Your favorite smiley?

Post by Languorous Lass »

I used to hate emoticons. I used to think that if you were a good enough writer, you could convey everything you wanted to say through words, and that emoticons were for idiots and/or the illiterate.

Then I started using them. And found out that sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Take the "Vomit" emoticon. When I came across a post that made me ill, I used to simply type the word "Vomit" and be done with it.
But a few weeks/months back, Our Leader TW added a bunch of new smileys, including this gem: :smt078 It conveys the pleasurable experience of a good barf in ways that the mere word "vomit" cannot.

I also am fond of the  smiley, because it conveys a reasonably-friendly-but-cynical response, and frequently does so better than any words I could muster for a given occasion.

Which smileys are your favorites? (Yes, killthesmiley, you may post about your least favorite smiley as well.)

:smt016 is my favorite, even though this isn't that kind of board ;) Otherwise, I'm fond of

I was joking... The reason no one will come out and say it is because no one really knows *what* it's for
