I prefer Masks of the Illuminati.

Given that Crowley actively messes with the historical and literary figures in the novel (and considering the manner in which he messes with them), I think Masks might be of greater interest to LG15 viewers than the trilogy.

Or, given the Sirius stuff in LG15 (pun intended), viewers might want to look at Cosmic Trigger I: The Final Secret of the Illuminati.

But that's me.

I would recommend (and have recommended in PMs) that people read Wilson and Shea's trilogy, though.

I leave for a day and a whole philisophical discussion breaks out, complete with recommended reading selections.
What the hell is goin' on here? LOL

Bree's been selected to help populate a new society - "The Children of Anchor Cove" - as part of the Illuminati's plan to establish a New World Order. The "religion" is merely a cover used to disguise their true intentions. After all, teens get mixed up in all sorts of odd things these days... don't they?

Ever since he played Potsie on Happy Days, Robert Anton Wilson has not been taken seriously.

He did, however, leave out Danny Most, who played Ralph Malph, and did not have his authority within the brotherhood compromised by that role.

Glad you asked about Scott Baio -

In 1542, Nostradamus predicted: "Winkler will have his own TV show." The people were confused and said, "Winkler? WHO? Winkler??

Chachi yeah, but WINKLER? Sure, I could see Chachi with is own show, but WINKLER??"

Yule: Imbloc (Candlemass, Imblog, Imbole) - February 2nd

Pronounced: EE-Molc
Incense: Rosemary, Frankincense, Myrrh, Cinnamon
Decorations: Corn Dolly, Besom, Spring Flowers
Colours: White, Orange, Red

This holiday is also known as Candlemas, or Brigid's (pronounced BREED) Day. One of the 4 Celtic "Fire Festivals. Commemorates the changing of the Goddess from the Crone to the Maiden. Celebrates the first signs of Spring. Also called "Imbolc" (the old Celtic name). This is the seasonal change where the first signs of spring and the return of the sun are noted, i.e. the first sprouting of leaves, the sprouting of the Crocus flowers etc. In other words, it is the festival commemorating the successful passing of winter and the beginning of the agricultural year. This Festival also marks the transition point of the threefold Goddess energies from those of Crone to Maiden.

It is the day that we celebrate the passing of Winter and make way for Spring. It is the day we honour the rebirth of the Sun and we may visualize the baby sun nursing from the Goddess's breast. It is also a day of celebrating the Celtic Goddess Brigid. Brigid is the Goddess of Poetry, Healing, Smithcraft, and Midwifery. If you can make it with your hands, Brigid rules it. She is a triple Goddess, so we honour her in all her aspects. This is a time for communing with her, and tending the lighting of her sacred flame. At this time of year, Wiccans will light multiple candles, white for Brigid, for the god usually yellow or red, to remind us of the passing of winter and the entrance into spring, the time of the Sun. This is a good time for initiations, be they into covens or self-initiations.

Imbolc (February 2) marks the recovery of the Goddess after giving birth to the God. The lengthening periods of light awaken Her. The God is a young, lusty boy, but His power is felt in the longer days. The warmth fertilizes the Earth (the Goddess), and causes seeds to germinate and sprout. And so the earliest beginnings of Spring occur.

In light of the new "On the Run" vid and ensuing discussion, it seemed like a good time to revive this thread. I've moved this from the vid thread to keep it from getting lost in conversations about stuffed animals :)
spaciegirl wrote:I've been thinking..What the hell kind of religion even wants someone to participate in some ceremony if they have to threaten her to do so? What would make that person so special? I can't think of too many answers to that question, but the one I keep thinking of over and over again is that it has something to do with her heritage/bloodline. I mean...most other factors that would make her "special" ...someone else could have too. Even if they only still wanted her because she's already "prepared", wouldn't they have a back-up? They must not have a back-up and there can only be a certain number of reasons why.
khjq wrote:hmm...I am begining to think that the "deacons" don't want Bree to do the "ceremony" for any religious purpose, but instead has something to do with her having the right DNA. See I think the "deacons" are really scientists and the "ceremony" is really an experiment, and the scientists have just been using this whole religion thing as a front.
I’ve been saying for a few weeks that this is no religious cult. It’s the Illuminati. Bree has been chosen to be the foundation (the mother or “Anchor”, if you will) of their design for a New World Order – the Order of Denderah. Anchor Cove = the new Plymouth. There’s something in her heritage that makes her the chosen one.

Just because people aren't flocking to say "Trainer's right! Now everything makes sense!" doesn't mean people don't believe you. Then again, there's no proof in this direction, so for now it's as much a theory as any of the others. It very well may be true, and arguments for it make sense, but there's no way to know at this point.

And many of us believe it's all going to end up being a fictional cult/religion to avoid offending anyone. (Although many believe the Illuminati is fictional too!)

HAHA! BK, You know me better that that! - I don't expect people to flock over to say "Trainer's right! Now everything makes sense!"
I was poking fun at the BASHING I took when I first posted to the boards. Now similar theories are popping up. Hence, the little musical notes around my last statement. :D
