I took this picture a few months ago. It was really depressing, but they did this thing where they put all these white flags all over campus (you're only seeing a small fraction of the total number of flags) to represent all the Iraqis that have been killed in Iraq....and get this: each flag represents TWELVE people.

So yeah.
Fun depressing little story there. But seeing it on campus was really a shock to me.

Yeah I know.colbertnationgirl wrote:That's awful.

And I told my friend Julia about the flags (and I accidentally forgot to mention that there were flags representing the Americans that have lost their lives), and you know what she said? She said:
That's so dumb! I can't believe they wouldn't have flags for the Americans. That's so stupid. God those idiots who put up the flags must not be patriotic.

I was like um, can't you just be a little sad that 650,000 people died?

I agree. That's why I tend to only get my news from BBC World News. It's unbiased and far more accurate than anything coming from America. We tend to only focus on the bad things happening to Americans, and leave everything else out. Why? Because we're egotistical idiots.colbertnationgirl wrote:It's truely sad how many Iraqis have died in the war. It's even more sad how little it's talked about in the media.
Yep.

I wonder where everybody else from this thread is...they all left.
