I had that exact conversation with my folks this weekend. Apparently it drives my mother crazy. Of course I never really paid it much attention until she brought it up. Now I notice every time. I grew up in rural Virginia. One that I never even thought about until I saw Jeff Foxworthy mention it a few years back ... y'all is almost always singular ... all y'all would be the plural.

Uhhh.. yeah... I hadn't really realized that, myself until I moved to where I am, in East Tennessee... but I had always been saying that (y'all, and all y'all) even when I lived in Chicago.Eric wrote:... y'all is almost always singular ... all y'all would be the plural.
I don't have much of an accent, anymore, but when I was younger I had a somewhat thick Japanese accent. Kinda hard to describe, and I don't have a video I can put up for reference. What I've noticed is that you can turn off and on an accent that you'd 'lost'... but how exactly do you lose an accent?
Oh, and kellylen I like your voice, too.

Wow really! Since your location says you're on the move, I guess you probably won't be in East TN for too long?Jess4298 wrote:HA!! I'm East Tennessee now too!kageyuki wrote:Uhhh.. yeah...
