i never heard this until I came to school (upstate new york) but some boys call girls biddies (sp?) here

This isn't a specific word from my town, but it irritates me when people from Missouri pronounce the word "Miz-er-ah." My mother and grandmother are both prime examples of this pronunciation and respond to my complaints with the notion that I'm "not native." I find it to fluctuate with generations as I'm prone to hear "Misery" elsewhere.

Kind of strange...but a pet peeve. :)

My aunt...also from ohio, says "rollie-coaster" instead of rollercoaster. Also drives me insane.

yeah pop is kind of an east coast (western new york, canada, ohio ) thing from what I understand
