[DISCUSSION] Moderators?

Post by Danielle »

Seeing as we have lost Sad Panda and Tiltingwindward in these last few days, I believe it would be wise for the community to aquire new moderators to relieve some stress off of the talented ones we still have.

I wouldn't wish moderating the last few days of this on my worst enemy. Thank you to our moderators for trying to be consistantly unbiased.

eek! Its definitely not a job I would want to have. It has been mentioned before what people would like to see in a moderator, but I figured I would leave it up to the current mods and BK.
It's official!! I'm getting married September 28, 2007!!

As I'm still in the mod board (though hardly modding) I thought I'd drop in and say that nominations are being discussed atm ^_^

It's always difficult to mod...or sysop, as we said, way back in ancient times... You know how I feel about the job you guys do already... :D

It takes a certain type of person - not one well versed in software, but one who can take the into account both the community as a whole and the individuals who comprise the community, trying to do a balancing act keeps in mind benefit for both...

IOW, what you need are jugglers and other circus performers!
Diane, or cher, or even chershaytoute, but "Hey, you!" works, too...

WWggD - let's make the Breeniverse a better place to live...

Thanks to giddeanx for the coolest personal glue stick ever!

I want to applaud Apo, Trainer, and wintermute for the excellent work on the opaphid forums the past week. I know I haven't been a very good moderator as of late, and i apologize to all of you for doing so, and have requested that my account be changed back to a regular user.

:P :P i think that all mods deserve to be applauded for what they do because it is one of those things which can get really hard because you have to work as a mediator, an organised person(even though that is more difficult for some than others),as an indevidual but also as a group so i would just say three cheers for the mods

I don't see any need for all that! 8)

Now if you would prefer to be a reg member that is different. I know being a MOD gets old sometimes. But by you not being here you haven't really done anything wrong. Just been a bit absent. No harm in that.

So if you still enjoy and would like to continue being a MOD I see no reason why you would need to give that up... :D

I wholeheartedly agree that the moderators have done a great job in difficult times, and I apologize that I was unable to be of more help. I was on vacation and wasn't online more than once or twice a day.

That being said, it does look like we will be needing Operators (OpAphid moderators) in the future. However, I'd like to see what happens with OpAphid before progressing too much further. There are still a lot of questions about what will happen, and if there is a change in PM, it may mean a delay in things. So at this point, I'm asking the forum moderators to keep an eye on things here and help out where possible.

If you have questions or concerns about anything, please contact myself or another moderator! In the meantime, if you'd like to be considered as an Operator in the future, you can send me a PM, and tell me a little about your involvement and why you'd like to be considered. But I don't expect we'll take on new Operators until the ARG moves forward again.

Thanks IRR. I appreciate your kind words. I am just a regular user again, and couldn't be more relieved. And I agree with the aforementioned posts:

All moderators deserve a pat on the back for keeping things together.
