He was a pilgrim, apparently. According to Wikipedia:
He was one of a group of Pilgrims who fled to Holland because of differences with the official church over their practice of religion. From there, he later returned to England and arranged the leasing of the Mayflower for the Pilgrims to use on their voyage to America. He did not complete the trip aboard the Mayflower with the other Pilgrims, because their smaller sister ship, the Speedwell, experienced a disaster which threatened its survival. He left the Mayflower, which had not proceeded very far at that time, in order to involve himself in saving this vessel.

So he fled for religious freedom, then abandoned his ship to save one that was sinking. Hm... :-k

because if you watched the videos, you would understand that he was one of the pilgrims that helped in the beginning of the temple. I believe its discussed in three of the videos :P lol

*jumps around in frustration*
Try not to be a bitch Kelly!!

Alright...well that wasn't meant to offend...BUT it does clearly state what I just said in at least one of the videos

because some of us wish to understand this series in more depth. It provides the knowledge and the history we may need for future puzzles.

i did read that, but thats the arg which is supposed to remain somewhat seperate from the actual storyline. youre supposed to be able to enjoy the story without taking part in the arg.

anything can seem important if you really want it to be; however, this thread no longer has anything to do with cushman so im gonna stop coming here. it was a failed attempt at an honest question. yes he was mentioned in a video, which is why i wondered about his relevance.

*grumbles* Yeah, saying "it's not required" is sorta like saying that participating in the forums isn't required to enjoy the series. True, but at least a passing familiarity with what's going on there helps :)

Ok, you don't have to solve the puzzles to keep up with the storyline. The OpHeads will solve the puzzles for those who don't do puzzles (like me). However, what the OpHeads discover when solving these puzzles usually relates directly to the storyline. I'm grateful to them for sharing this information with us, because it is important.
