[Investigation] What Do We Know About The Order?

Post by nobackspacebutton »

List what we know about the Order so far.

-The Order is not a Religion, but a secret society. (Gemma told us this)
-High figures of authority are called "Deacons"
-Members usually live in "communities", which are widespread across the globe.
-Information on the Order is withheld from lower members.
-Bree (and many other girls) were selected at birth and placed in protected homes until puberty, at which time she would be singled out from the rest as the right person for the ceremony. (from LGpedia)
-OpAphid is also a covert organization working for or with The Order
What ever happened to that girl BA?

BA Tells Lies.

Some things are secret for a reason.
There are people whose lives are dedicated to keeping them that way.

1) The Order seems to have something to do with Aleistar Crowley.

2) There is another organization working against the Order (which Tachyon and Brother probably belong to). The title of this organization maybe "The Culper Ring".

3) The Order employs people whose purpose is solely to watch whoever they are commanded to watch.

4) OpAphid is the head of one faction of the Order, and Trainer has said it is the enforcement arm. The Order of Dendorah is the so-called religious arm.

5) The Order is willing to do anything and everything to bring about its purposes, including resorting to criminal activity, including murder and kidnapping.

6) The Order bribes people with ice cream and pizza. This appears to be for the purpose of returning them to a child-like state. As we know, Bree was sheltered, and not really allowed to come into adulthood in a normal fashion.

7) The Order seems to use hypnotic and trauma-induced type of conditioning in order to exercise mind control over those it needs or wants for whatever reason.

8) The OpAphid arm of the Order makes chilling and unsettling videos to scare the target.

9) The Order plants video and audio devices anywhere it deems necessary.

But can we trust Gemma? Since she was outed as an agent for Lucy/the Order, I've assumed that nothing she said should be believed.

True. We cannot list things that can be discredited by distrust.

I don't think Gemma was originally with the order because otherwise I don't see any reason why she would tell Bree that the religion she beleived in was actually a secret organization. Which is also why I believe Gemma's info to be true. Bree's realization of her "religion" is what made her stop doubting them in the first place....why would the Order want Bree to start questioning them?

I think Gemma was using any angle possible to gain Bree's trust. By giving her something interesting, she was hoping to lure Bree into her web a bit more. Thank goodness it didn't work.

I think Gemma's information can be trusted, pretty much. Most of what she said, Bree already knew. And the thing about the Watchers was that I think OpAphid wanted to scare them into running. Why else would they ransack the hotel room? I think the watchers purpose (other than 'babysitting') is to scare Bree and her pals.

Best way to draw someone in is to give a tease of the truth...that they already suspect...and confirm it. Makes you seem trustworthy.

Yes. This is an age-old theory that I believe is 100% correct in Gemma's case.
