Synopsis: Mohinder Suresh is the son of Professor Suresh (see Prof. Suresh bio). Following in his father’s footsteps Mohinder has become a professor at his local college. Upon the death of his father Mohinder begins to look into the research his father had done on genetic mutation. His studies into this research took as far as New York. While in New York Mohinder became disenchanted with his father’s research and decided to return to India. Upon his return to India Mohinder repeatedely runs into proof that his father was onto something, including a child that can manipulate dreams who shows himsome of his father’s last moments. This child also leads him to find out that he had a sister that died at a young age(this sister may have also been gifted).

Name: Peter Petrelli
Ability: Power Emulation
Synopsis: Peter is a kind hearted nurse and brother to Nathan Petrelli. Initially Peter began having dreams of flying and eventually had an occurance of flight. When attempting to recreate the flight experience Peter is frustrated by his inability to do so. Soon after Peter comes into contact with others that have abilities and he begins to understand that he has the ability to emulate the powers that other people possess. As we see the character develop we begin to understand that he has continually been in the shadow of his older brother, and even appears to have been slightly neglected by his father. Throughout everything his loyalty to his brother has never faded. Peter begins to understand that something is happening in others as well as himself and begins to try to locate others. Peter begins to think that he and the others are actually destined for a greater purpose. Peter has at least once already put himself in harms way to protect someone else(Claire).Shockingly at the end of season one Peter has a dream that he is the atom explosion that they all fear will destroy New York

Name: Nathan Petrelli

Synopsis: Older brother of Peter Petrelli, Nathan is a savvy cold hearted politician. Nathan’s only goals in life are to put himself in a position that gives him power. Nathan appears to have been the favorite of his father and is attempting to become something better than his father was. This “family man” initially noticed his power when he and his wife were being chased down a deserted stretch of interstate. Just prior to them wrecking Nathan just floated out of the vehicle. This “escape” from the vehicle saved Nathan from sustaining any serious injuries. While on a business trip Nathan bumps into the lovely Niki Sanders. During his attempts to woe her Niki suddenly appears to panic and leaves. Though unable to resist his charms(so he thinks) she returns and the spend a wild night together. Upon waking Nathan has to escape from two “goons”. Nathan flies away and eventually lands outside of a dinner where he meets Hiro Nakamura. Nathan calls some of his “people” to give him a ride back to Las Vegas, and also give a ride to Hiro and his companion. When he arrives back in Las Vegas he is confronted by the fact that he is now being blackmailed for his affair with Niki. Nathan now turns to getting his brother Peter to work quietly at his side so that Peter cannot find a way to embarrass him.

Name: Claire Bennett
Ability: Super Regeneration (Healing)
Synopsis: Claire is just your average teenage cheerleader. That is until the day she discovers that she has the ability to instantaneously heal any and all injuries she sustains. Repeatedly this teen pushes out to see what the actually limits of her healing ability are. At one point this even lands her on the autopsy table. Yet she always manages to walk away. After a rape attempt finds herself the outcast at her school and begins to find out who her friends truly are. Claire pits herself directly against her attacker and wrecks his car in an attempt to kill him. He survives the attempt but mysteriously loses his memory. Not long afterwards Claire is grounded from going to her homecoming dance. Claire sneeks out and goes to the dance anyway. When she arrives she is attacked by an unknown man(Sylar). While attempting to escape she runs into Peter Petrelli who has come specifically to save her. They are able to escape but Peter risks his life and is arrested for the attack. Claire sets the record straight and has Peter released. Claire then notices people begin to lose their memories about her. Anyone who has any contact with her or who knows about her ability. At the very end of season one Claire is contacted by a man who tells her that her father wants her not to remember anything but it is better that she does.

Name: Matt Parker
Ability: Telepathy (Mind Reading)
Synopsis: Imagine your whole life you attempt to help other. One day you suddenly wake up and realize that you can hear the thoughts of those around you. That is exactly what happen to this career police officer. The only drawbacks are that he can’t turn it off, everyone thinks he is crazy, and he has to hear the deepest darkest secrets of his wife. His marriage is put to the test when he finds out that his wife slept with his best friend at work. Suspended from the force for punching that best friend, Matt turns to attempting to find out what is actually happening to him. Soon he to begins to find others like himself and begins to think that maybe there is more to this “evolution”.

Name: D.L. Hawkins
Ability: None Known (as of season 1)
Synopsis: Escaped convict and estranged husband of Niki Sanders. D.L. is also the father of Micah Sanders. Little is initially known about D.L. except that he has escaped and appears to have been blamed for crimes committed by Niki. D.L. escapes from police custody and slips into the house where Micah and Niki live and he then kidnappes Micah. D.L. then takes his son on a run from the police and Niki. During their trip D.L. is able to pull more and more of the details about Niki’s problem out of Micah. At the end of season on D.L. is shot by Niki.
