Point Break Connection

Post by HazelButtercup »

Why did Daniel say that Jonas was, "kinda like Patrick Swayze in Point Break"?

I saw the movie and I remember Swayze being a passionate leader of a group of surfers who rob banks to support their lifestyle. Here's some of Bodhi's quotes (Patrick Swayze's character):

"This was never about money for us. It was about us against the system. That system that kills the human spirit. We stand for something. To those dead souls inching along the freeways in their metal coffins, we show them that the human spirit is still alive." -Bodhi

"If you want the ultimate thrill, you gotta be willing to pay the ultimate price." -Bohdi

I remember Bohdi was pretty hyper and intense. But I don't remember him being touchy-feely or wanting to talk about his feelings.

Any other thoughts on this? Why did Daniel compare Jonas to Bodhi?

Well, as we all know by now, I think this is Illuminati related and I've found a lot of websites that say James Cameron is Illuminati, and he wrote and produced "Point Break":

"In 1990 Cameron co-wrote "Point Break" with his third wife and Order of the Eastern Star member, Kathryn Bigelow, who directed. He became an executive producer on the film and the film was released in 1991 and went on to make $100 million and topped the video rental charts. Although the film was about a group of persons who robbed banks, a lot of subliminal imagery was added to the film, which explains why the film was popular. He also wrote and directed “Aliens”.

I don't know if anyone recalls Daniel saying in Breaking and Entering that he felt like Ripley from Alien?

And this is off topic, but this website that mentioned the above info also had this to say about Illuminati and programming with colors. It is the alter personalities of PURPLE (monkey)???

"Purple: We don't have much to say to the insignificant bunch of nothings that exist in this body. We are ALWAYS in control and are basically invisible to the rest, besides blacks, and even they don't know who we are. We are superior. We are the mafia connection, the drug dealers, the politicians. We ARE superior. We got here through lots of pain, but you can't prove that to us because we don't believe it because we are too high up to experience this. WE are the Illuminated ones. We only take our orders from the council members inside. The GOLD council."

"Tyler explains to Johnny Utah that Patrick Swayze's character is named Bodhi, the Bodhisattva. Bodhisattva is a term in the Buddhist religion meaning an enlightened being who, out of compassion, forgoes nirvana in order to save others. Bodhi means "wakefulness." <from the IMDB>

So, with your quotes and the IMDB quote, the character Bodhi might not have been touchy feelie, but there's still some commonality there with Jonas. The water referances along with Jonas being super big on helping others in need. Plus, Jonas is a little bit of a spaz..get's bored easily. He wants 'fun' ..live life.. dance around...do something...that kind of thing.

But, me no like Swayze...

I observed that Daniel made this comparison as a way to offhandedly remark that Jonas is hiding something from all of us.

In the movie, the character leads a gang of surfers who finance their endless summer party by robbing banks. Daniel says he doesn't surf, and they don't rob banks.

The thing he doesn't mention is that in the movie, the bank robber/surfers wear masks, and dress up as former U.S. presidents.

I think Daniel is suggesting that Jonas' present guise is in fact a cover for something else.

The Point Break reference struck me as a little strange also. Odd, seemingly innocuous references seem to be the LG way of tipping us off that someone or something is not what he/she seems.

A couple of things are particularly striking –

First being that Swayze’s character, Bodhi, as much as he may have been a fun guy to hang with, was the leader of a group of anti-establishment “bad guys”.
HazelButtercup wrote:"This was never about money for us. It was about us against the system. That system that kills the human spirit. We stand for something. To those dead souls inching along the freeways in their metal coffins, we show them that the human spirit is still alive." -Bodhi
Oddly enough, this quote almost makes him sound like he is on the side opposing the Order rather than with the Order.

“Enlightened Ones” = “Illuminati” (Tons of examples come up in any search engine – check it out)
Extrapolated: Jonas = Bodhi = Bodhisattva = Enlightened One = Illuminatus (singular)
But hey, I’m a little wacky like that. /.\
It's ALL connected...

Patrick Swayze goes around in that movie saying a lot of really deep sounding observations and philosophies about how the world works and how human beings are.

Couldn't Daniel just have been saying Jonas talks in a similar fashion, but about emotions and his own philosophy?

I think the line about not surfing or robbing banks was a nice backhand insult that they never do anything but talk.

But wait--would this make Daniel the Keanu Reeves character in the above speculation?

Though it is funny to think about Jonas' blog yesterday with the whole hesitation thing. If you search IMDB Patrick Swayze has a quote in Point Break about fear/hesitation that is pretty fitting.

Is the fact that Bree's in the bathroom any foreshadowing? I know that the whole Bree-suicide thread was talked about elsewhere, but it just popped into my head while reading this one.

Plus, if Jonas is the Swayze character and Daniel is Keanu Reeves, doesn't that mean that Daniel is not who he appears to be? It's been a while since I saw the movie, but wasn't Reeves an undercover cop? If we're going with the whole sly references to things not being what they appear, then Daniel is also hiding something.

(I'm new to this posting thing, although I've been following LG15 since before it was exposed.)

As for ^...I don't think Bree is going to be committing suicide. Girls just tend to lock themselves in bathrooms...or are at least stereotyped to do it.

And as for the movie....I think you're right in the idea that this is LGs way of telling us that someone is not as he or she seems.

That character Daniel describes him as portraying makes me think that Jonas seems kind and thoughtful, and reasons with himself that he is justified in doing whatever it is he does...because it keeps him alive and others. But underneath it all, he is part of some organisation that is very powerful and is actively working..

This makes me suspect that Jonas was TOLD by the group Tachyon works for to take Bree and Daniel in to PROTECT them. He plays off this nice "hug out his feelings" kinda guy, but really he is connected to Tachyon's group and is against the order.

Jonas might have disclosed this information to Daniel, considering Daniel has been recieving messages from Tachyon, but Daniel has chosen not to reveal this to us because then the Order would know about Jonas' involvment with Tachyon, and his undercover identity would be discovered.
