"Watchers"
Ok, so this was probably discussed somewhere else, but oh well, I need to know. We know Gemma's bad, but since she's bad, and warned Bree away from these "watchers" does that mean they are good?Or maybe they are just normal, everyday people that don't even know Bree or aren't even a real part of the story?
This world will never be what I expected.

I am not sure... Gemma saying for her to stay away confused me. Since she is supposedly a traitor and hasn't made any more vids i do not know what to believe.

some speculate that gemma was trying to gain bree's trust by doing so. also, note that it was impossible to actually see that "watcher tattoo" on the dude's hand. maybe she made the whole thing up.

I guess so and yeah definitely there is no way you could make out that watcher symbol on the guys hand way to blurry. Now a watcher symbol that seems to have been shown fairly clearly was the "white" one on the back of Bree in the "Swimming" video. At least from what i have seen it appears to be that symbol.

Yeah, there was definately a thread on this somewhere else....hmm..I can't find it right now though.
But anyways, its possible that everything Gemma told Bree was a lie, so its still hard to say if the watchers are really good or bad.

I had posted this somewhere else a couple days ago...

Buuut, it also got me thinking. Maybe Gemma didn't always work for the Order. Maybe the Order found her after she thought she was being watched, and they convinced (or... blackmailed. Maybe even mindcontrolled. Something like that.) her to join them.
That may have already been said somewhere else, though. I've only been here for a day. >.< Either way, I've just now thought about it.

From the ARG we know that Gemma was working for the Order before Bree even started posting videos. She was supposed to infiltrate and destroy Brother for Op.Breepop wrote:I had posted this somewhere else a couple days ago...

But if Gemma was just telling Bree lies...maybe the watchers are good. Afterall, all they do is "watch".

If the watchers are good then does that make us like superwatchers? Cause we see all the vids and gather in our own little community to discuss what is next. But does this mean we are good or bad? hmmm

That makes sense to me. If they're relying on Bree to return voluntarily (which seems likely, given how little effort they've put into capturing her), it would be easier for her to slip back into it if she were at home.Antissa Pompeii wrote:I think the watchers are real, and part of the order, and Gemma was told by OpAphid to tell Bree about them so she'd freak and run, and that would give Gemma the opportunity demand them to go home.

I'm on the fence on this one, and until I see otherwise that is where I'll stay.
I did hear someone say that the classic spy/infiltration modus operandi is to first feed your target good information in order to gain their trust, and then give them bad information. Since a lot of the early stuff Gemma tells us is stuff Bree would already know ("The Order", the kiddie interpretation of "OpAphid"), it would go to show that at least some of the other things she tells us/Bree would have to be true, because she has to at least initially be useful in order for Bree to trust her. Therefore, her story about the girl whose family got disappeared. That is probably true (hence, Tachyon). But that seems more a dire and unsubstantiable warning from the Order that Bree should go through the ceremony "or else". So maybe the Watchers info that she spewed was true.
But then... Maybe they really were protectors of Bree, and Gemma/the Order was trying to drive up their paranoia to flee them. Gemma's "I'm being followed!" stunt coincided quite well with their room being ransacked, which seemed like a stunt to scare them home to their monitored rooms.
