Make something happen please?
Does anyone else think that this series is dragging on ? I used to be excited to check the new videos everyday, but now I tune in less and less --because honestly it's getting boring. I mean, I know its the internet, but I just think the pacing of this series is too slow and you might be losing your audience.

I fall into the category of people that would like to see more 'action' rather than 'talking in front of webcam'. And by 'action' i mean, more stuff happening away from the computer room.
Why doesn't DanielBeast just sock one of those watchers in the tummy? They look fat, balding and out of shape! Danielbeast is a young guy and could totally take those tubby guys in blacksuits!

Well, now, if they did more "action" and less "talking in front of a webcam" we wouldn't get to see a whole lot, would we?watermelonhead wrote:I fall into the category of people that would like to see more 'action' rather than 'talking in front of webcam'. Missing Oppy....Missing Bree.....
Ah, for the good old days.

The timing and set of this "program" is totally a unique theory. There is no "action" per say as the Creators are creating SUSPENSE.
As Alfred Hithcock alluded too...
"If you see two people eating a dinner, and then a bomb goes off killing them, that is shock. If you see two people eating dinner, and the director shows you a scene with a ticking time bomb under the dinner table...there is a tension built between the viewer and the characters on the screen. The viewer is on pins and needles, wanting to yell at the actors to stop talking about rubbish and find the bomb. That is supsense."
This story is created by suspense. If you watch all the videos, and then come to the forums and see the interaction that occurs...you note that the creators are doing an EXCELLENT job.
This series would be ruined by too much action. Suspense takes finesse, and this method of shooting is a unique and VERY creative form.
Just my thoughts.

Order in your life is meant to build strength and confidence. Without the order, there is chaos. The order, in life, is necessary.

Agreed.
What ever happened to that girl BA?

Yeah, the first few weeks of the series (with 'boy problems', etc) allowed us to empathize with the characters. Then slowly it started to incorporate a little more mystery. I personally want this series to last as long as possible. I can't get enough!

I guess it IS picking up-- I just hope there are more twists to keep us on the edge of our seats.. like maybe daniel beast and jonas are the SAME person (NOTICE YOU NEVER SEEN THE TWO OF THEM TOGETHER?) or maybe Gemma is actually a man

I also agree about the recent videos. They are some of the best yet. Ever since Gemma was revealed to be in SoCal this series (though addictive before) has become like virtual crack.
I like how they are silly and humourous at times without being stupid, and are really laying it heavy with the character development while still being realistic about it. And most of all, I like the return to form of having videos loaded subtle clues for us to analyze. They seem pretty ordinary on the outside but each little thing says a lot.
Before this recent spate of videos it was getting kind of dull. Each video was just action at face value, and didn't have the depth of the old videos or these new ones. They'd fight. Jonas would invite them over. Gemma would give bad advice and tell a stupid story. ...ad nauseum.
I also think that they are tying up things, subtlely, as they go along. For awhile I thought they really were making up a fake religion to appease the real-life Thelemites after retconning Thelema as Bree's religion. Now there are a lot of heavy signs that she was part of the Illuminati all along. And Gemma's awful "Britishness" that's been going on for months is finally explained away.

The series has definitely matured nicely from what it was in the beginning. I understand how at first an audience was needing to be pulled in by showing more humorous vids. However, now it has gotten a bit more serious which is needed to hold a solid base. Not so serious as to kill all the fun though
. Which was totally seen in the new "skateboarding" vid great stuff.
It is great seeing how far Bree has progressed and grown throughout the series. Not just her but Daniel also and characters we thought were trustworthy have become the total opposite: a nice twist with Gemma. Not to mention the addition of various obstacles to overcome and a cool new character in Jonas. There seems to be a perfect balance now and the creators deserve a big hand for accomplishing this so well.
