Watchers?
I realise this may have been considered before but if you'll indulge a LG newbie...
Is it possible that the watchers, far from being a malevolent force are actually equivalent to bodyguards watching out for Bree?
I realise it's a long shot since it has already been pointed out in one of the videos that the watchers may also have been present at the faux-ceremony.
A more general question to ask might be, if Bree's parents (who were apparently successful and intelligent people in their own right and apparently genuine in their care for Bree's well-being) were in any way concerned about their daughter's welfare - would they not have had some sort of safeguard in place to ensure her safety?
If so, what form would that (or has that) taken? I'm assuming that they were already aware of mysterious 'disapperances' among other members of the 'order'.

well
I read somewhere that cults tend to seek out ultra-intelligent individuals for their organizations. So just because her parents were intelligent might not indicate that they could do anything once sucked into the cult. But I do think the Watchers might have some benevolent purpose that is superficial to what they really do - steal people's stuff in order to control them and abuse stuffed animals. They might even be a cult of Plushies for all we know.
Fair is Fair!
I think it's possible too.... more so now, given Gemma's seeming to be on the other side.....there are new interesting possibilities given the recent developments with Gemma.....
A.) The Watchers are "good guys" and Gemma mentioned them to keep Bree away from them.....
B.) The Watchers are"bad guys", and Gemma just pointed them out as a ploy to gain Bree's confidence, knowing that Bree knowing about them would keep her scared, but not affect the outcome of what the Watchers intended to do.
C.) The Watchers don't exist and Gemma made them up as part of her make believe dialogue with Bree....
Any other possiblities anyone else has thought of?
Also in question is all the other info Gemma gave Bree... like all the info in "Learning Egyptian"....The Authorities being threatening to Bree, or part of the Order...etc.
I'm guessing that some of what she said was true, given that Tachyon claims to be the sister of the "They Disappeared" girl, but it does leave quite a bit to sort out.

good points. i'm thinking more along the lines of A, that the watchers are actually good, watching over bree. cause they had every opportunity to catch her, but didn't.Macabea13 wrote:I think it's possible too.... more so now, given Gemma's seeming to be on the other side.....there are new interesting possibilities given the recent developments with Gemma.....

i question every piece of info that gemma gave bree, now with recent developments that render her untrustworthy. i even question if it's really called 'the order', cause she was the one who let us in on that term. (unless bree's used that term, too, and i missed that)
we dont know who's info to trust

She has, but it was after Gemma said that was the organization's name. It's unclear if Bree knows that to be its name for sure or if Bree just accepted Gemma's title.kayokosaeki wrote:i even question if it's really called 'the order', cause she was the one who let us in on that term. I wish Bree would talk a little about her religion from her point of view so we could have something to compare Gemma's info to. I understand the writeres obviously want to keep it mysterious and what not but just a little info would be extremely helpful.Lurker wrote:She has, but it was after Gemma said that was the organization's name. She's mentioned the different groups of people (such as deacons) but never even explained what it is they do or what thier role is.

I definately think the Watchers are not a brutal force. They aren't called Attackers, they are plainly called Watchers. They watch what is around them. I believe that the Watchers actually are more like body guards. If they wanted to hurt Bree and Daniel, or capture them, they would have---they wouldn't have just sat around following them.
But then again...nothing is certain...perhaps the watchers notified Oppy when Bree/Daniel left so she could come in and ransack them..

What ever happened to that girl BA?
BA Tells Lies.
Some things are secret for a reason.
There are people whose lives are dedicated to keeping them that way.

Considering they havn't taken any action against them besides following them it's hard to say what thier intentions are.nobackspacebutton wrote:I definately think the Watchers are not a brutal force.
