Live Web Chat Issues

Post by twjaniak »

The production team of lonelygirl15 is overwhelmed and excited by the turnout for the first ever LG15 live web chat. Tonight hundreds of you became part of a completely new form of entertainment, yet thousands of you could not participate.

We are beta testing a NEW entertainment experience and a NEW way of telling a story, and unfortunately we underestimated the volume of viewers who wanted to participate. Over 350,000 of you visited our site during the chat. Though we had a solution in place for handling a large number of participants, last minute technical difficulties forced us to resort to less than optimal methods. In the future (and their will be future chats) we will be ready for the load, and the conversations will be easier to follow.

Thank you for your support while we work out the kinks.

With greatest appreciation,

The Lonelygirl15 Production Team

Thanks to you and the team for a remarkable first attempt. Sometimes you just can't avoid Murphy and those darn laws. Kudos to all of you!

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

As one of those who got caught in the melee and couldn't get in -- will there be a transcript of any of the pertinents?

Here, no need for a transcript I'll just tell everyone that wasn't lucky enough to to get in the chat room what happened.

Here is what happened,

I'm not sure anyone really wants to see a transcipt of that session unless you can edit out all the nonsense. I was in the chat and had the opportunity to speak with Bree directly. While it's true that there was no resolution (wait for the video), that really wasn't the idea. She stated in her most recent video that she wanted ideas, that's what we provided. I'm inclined to think she and Daniel will end up at Jonas' place. I'm also inclined to believe that Jonas is not what he seems (but we can discuss that in "Plot Discussion").

Wow 350,000. I had no problems getting in, and I thought it was a successful event, very well moderated.

That figure you state of 350,000 is patently absurd. You just can't throw out numbers like that and believe that WE will not call you on it.

Rubbish statistics!

350,000 is a blatant lie. The video was only clicked on about 100,000 times on YouTube. No way that every single person that watched on YouTube convinced 3-4 of their friends to check out Bree chat.

Maybe the site had 350,000 page views, but no way on earth were they from 350,000 unique IP addresses.
"NO BREE DON'T PRESS THAT BUTTON" yelled Daniel.
"why?" Bree said, click.
