Profile suggestion

I am clueless when it comes to programming stuff...so if this is really hard or just not feasible, sooooorry.

But, I've seen this on other forums and after my avvy issues today I thought of it. When we put in the link for our avatar, can we have a "preview" button...that way we can see how it will turn out before we submit it...which in my case today probably messed with some people's screens. Thanks!

Don't know what to tell ya... maybe send a PM to twjaniak? He's doing a lot of the programming, and he could tell you if things like that are possible!

No...I wasn't trying to be snarky! I'm sure twj and the admins saw your post, but I know twj has been really busy with the new design and then getting the chat room set up, so maybe he just hasn't had time yet!

When you link in an image for your avatar it can seen at the bottom of your profile page. The way avatars are setup here, what you see is what you get; there is nothing on the site that changes the appearance of the avatar.

It shows it AFTER you submit it. YOu have to go back and it's there. But, it doesn't have an option to "preview" it before it's uploaded and your permanent avatar, see what I'm saying. This other site has a "preview" button you press after putting in your link. It shows the pic as it will show on your avatar. I thought of this because for some reason my old avatar pic is huge on this site, even though the original is scaled down to an "avatar" size. Me uploading this while I was trying to fix it last week surely messed with people's screen sizes and such while reading the forums. If I'd been able to preview it before hitting 'submit', it would solve that problem.

I don't think I'm explaining this properly...because it doesn't sound like people are getting what I'm saying.

i know what u are talking about.

where it is a blow up.

she is talking about size wise. if im not mistaken twjaniak.

Avater size.

she wants a prview button that way she can see what it looks like if it fills the screen or not.

what is the avater settings?

50X50 or something diffrent??

Exactly, that way you make sure it's all kosher before exploding the forums.

Like I said, I thought of this feature when my normal sized avatar exploded here one day.
