Ms. Kelly kind of sounds like she has a tiny bit of an accent. To me, anyway. It sounds kind of northeastern USish to my untrained ear.

I was thinking she sort of sounded like Lily Tomlin's operator: "One Ringy-Dingy, Two Ringy-Dingy". Wonder what this "trip" is about.

Um ... Ms. Kelley's voice in this vid sounds a whole lot like a guy's voice to me.
Study up, students.

Her voice sounded a little altered to me, so it could be a man or a woman I suppose. However Ms. Kelly must have helpers, so who knows.

Anyone have any idea what the ham picture is all about with the caption I don't have 4 months to spare?

I think she may be trying to track down Lyn and her mom, they are hiding and Ms. Kelly thinks Lynn started the fire, although I think her mother did it.

I find it interesting that Lyn's blog is called "Everything that rises must converge". It's the title of a short story about a son's conflicted relationship with his mother:

http://www.geocities.com/cyber_explorer ... verge.html

Lyn also talks about the Yellow Wallpaper and Mayati references an author that wrote a story about a woman going crazy and seeing things coming out of yellow wallpaper. I don't remember the author, but it's Charlotte something? It's in Mayati's blog.

Upon further listening, Ms. Kelly reminds me of this lady that reads short stories on NPR during the World Cafe.
And have you noticed how many times she says "your faith in us will be rewarded"? like...four.
Speaking of convergences,
Is anybody here a McSweeney's fan? They published a book called "Everything That Rises: a Book of Convergences". Its really awesome, basically you take two completely unrelated but eerily similar pictures and explain why they're the same and what the similarities say about life, the universe or anything. Its really cool.
I know its not exactly relevant, esp. on this thread, but check it out!

I read everything rises , hoping it would enlighten me... but it hasn't, although I did find the story grim and a little depressing.
The yellow wallpaper is also a grim, sad story.

I will have to check out Mcsweeney's , sounds cool.
