Who's the informant?

One thing I didn't see in any of the discussion about the secret messages in Bree's Hymn of One videos is who's behind the message? I guess I assumed it was Bree herself, but the Creators confirmed in a presentation that the Hymn of One member who's behind the creation of those videos is secretly feeding information to the resistance.

So who is it? Any thoughts? (And if I missed this discussion, forgive me...)

Actually, most of us thought it must be Alex, because the clue led to a puzzle which was meant specifically for Jonas to understand, if you remember. He and Alex shared a specific memory which was mentioned in the puzzle.

The other possibility is Jonas' father (and/or mother), since he took Alex and Jonas to that birthday party and, according to Alex, is still alive.

if it was one of Jonas' parents, though that would make them serious jerks. Leaving their son orphaned to spy on the order.

I always thought that it might be Alex.

Mostly because of the "Cid the clown" thing. Jonas made sure the mention that his father took him AND ALEX to that place. It just seemed obvious that Alex had some part in this.

As for why she is helping them, I have no idea. Maybe she isn't? Maybe this whole thing is somehow part of the HoO's plan to get Bree ready for the ceremony. I mean, they left her pretty much alone with only one guy watching her. It was so easy for the gang to "rescue" her from the HoO.

It would be fun if it was someone new. But how would they know about Cid the Clown?

Hey that's a really good point, considering she is undercover in the Hymn of One.

i always thought it was alex too.

and ever since I saw that presentation greg gave saying its someone working for HoO AND the resistance i thought it was alex... well it confirmed it for me

It certainly appeared to have been Alex. It could also have been the kid whose party Jonas attended at the site, or some other person who attended. One of Jonas' parents would also have known.

If it was Nikki, then she would need to be able to explain how she knew about the party. That would be interesting.

It could also be any number of people that were close to Jonas' parents (working undercover). The party could be one of those stories that was shared to close friends and family as conversation

Seems like whoever encoded the messages would have video productions skills - at least scriptwriting, not to mention encryption. Alex gave up photography years ago for fashion if my memory serves me, and she never posted a video herself. Seems like scriptwriting and production just aren't her thing. I agree with Apo - any number of order people were there at the party. Must have been quite a bash.

I need to go back and rewatch the videos of the other party to identify likely suspect/s.

That's technically true, but it isn't likely. The reason is this: If the person writing that message did so from using second-hand information, then they would be trusting someone else's version of the party. They wouldn't be certain that the message was accurate.

It almost certainly had to be someone who attended the party at the location.

I think Nikki is actually a very good suggestion. We don't know how long she has been undercover. Plus she used the same technique in her vid to inform us of the fact that she is undercover. Offcourse that could all have been a joke aswell.

Anyway, I like Nikki, so it'd be cool if she finally became canon.
