I think she may have attempted (or suceeded) drowning herself, or someone eles may have attempted (or suceeded) in drowning her.
Also the trait might be virginity... maybe and so maybe they are helping her by having sex? And the are putting on a ploy as far as the drama goes.

i don't know, if bree's dad was injecting her with things to try to make her trait negative, i think that kind of rules out virginity...
honestly, with what we know about why bree was wanted (for her high ribozyme levels) and the focus the Order places on science, i'm not sure that we can assume that this "purity bond" thing really does imply that she needs to be a virgin... they may not care.

It's already been established that the trait has something to do with ribozymes. It has been assumed that the purity bond may have something to do with virginity or sex, however I'm still not convinced (it's too obvious, and why would the purity bond have to do with being pure sexually when Aleister Crowley was what one might call a sexual deviant?)

The purity bond had more to do with psychological control than with the traits. You keep them from going all rebel on ya and the order has already won half the battle.aboriginalgangster wrote:It's already been established that the trait has something to do with ribozymes. No, we never saw down into it, did we? Also I just wanna say that I don't apprecciate the bashing I am getting. You could have said it nicer.eyemeey wrote:how would she have drowned? you mean in the shower?
if so, wouldn't she still be dead... in the shower? or do you think she went down the drain or something?

i agree. its easier to get someone who feels as though they HAVE TO do whatever the adults in their life tell them to listen to.. well, an adult.oxdeltaxo wrote:The purity bond had more to do with psychological control than with the traits. if they frequently disobey the rules, with only groundings or small punishments, its going to make it harder to 'control' them in the end.
make the reward more appealing (maintaining a sacred bond with your parents vs being able to go out) and youll get a much more well behaved 'child..'
