there are definitley modern relgious cults that perform rituals or ceremonies to attempt the resurrection of their god. i feel like that take some pretty elaborate plans, and the order seems to be pretty elaborate
Maybe not your god, but I pray every night to her in the church in Second Life  Joking, of course. First one missed its mark...

I actually agree that it might have been a possibility, but I think there are more religious ceremonies where the invoke the spirits instead.

I think you may be watching to much television. No offense, I just mean that you have a somewhat skewed idea of what people are doing in "ceremonies". I've been studying religions of the world for years, and the reality is, no one, short of those who watch too much Charmed and Buffy maybe, is out there trying to raise anybody.
thats bescause wiccan is the stupidest thing ever.
Wow, way to insult my religious beliefs. I thought you had some good posts before, but I guess I can just ignore them from here on out. Thanks!

And PS it's "Wicca". A "Wiccan" is a person who practices it. If you are going to insult me, at least try to do it in an intelligent manner.

Personal insults are not tolerated here, neither are predjudice insults.
If you are feel the need to insult people take it somewheres else, because it is simply not tolerated.

maybe i should add a little more that statement...

the order in silent hill is a cult the worships old gods. they also manufacture a drug thats used to brainwash people. they are trying to complete a ritual which will basically infuse the spirit of their god into a girl about brees age..

There are similarities to many different TV shows, movies, etc.

I don't know if you've ever seen "Blair Witch: Book of Shadows", but when Bree and the gang were at Jonas's cabin, it reminded me so much of that movie (which scared the crap out of me, BTW). Of course, it was just one or two episodes that reminded me of it, and then the plot was going in a new direction.

I've seen several posts where people have said it reminds them of this or that...I sometimes wonder if the Creators are randomly going from one to another and laughing at us. (Highly unlikely, obviously).

"Daniel, do you hear that annoying buzzing noise?"

Ok, I couldn't resist. I accept the apology, but let's try to nicer in general. After rereading my own post, I can see that I was a little harsh in my original response to your post, so we can just call it even, K?

Well, yes, there were similarities other than the cabin, but it would take a long, detailed post to describe it, and I don't think others would find it interesting. You have seen "Book of Shadows", right? I'm not talking about the first one.

I've never watched "Silent Hill", but from what you say, it does sound similar.

Thanks goes to an undercover agent (maybe (s)he's a watcher?) who shall remain nameless for pointing me here before things had a chance to blow up. But it looks like I wasn't really needed here, after all :)

Not really seeing the similarities to Silent Hill, but it's not a movie that I enjoyed *shrug*

I've got the game (maybe it's Silent Hill II), but still haven't played it  The movie? Kinda boring for me, which is why I can't remember enough of it to make the connection that you're seeing
