Last 2 videos: mention of random chat with a stranger

Is it just coincidence that in Daniel's "Back Home" he mentions running into a guy when he was riding the rails who is normally a mortgage broker -- then Jonas mentions in "Tough Cookie" that he had a random convo with the owner of the bakery where he went to get chocolate chip cookies and she used to be a "big shot" in the city, but needed a life change.

For mention of "speaking to a stranger who is, or was, successful in the mainstream but seeks a change, off the 'beaten path'" to come up twice like that is more than a coincidence... but I'm wondering if it's a hint at something about Jonas' character OR if these two people, who showed up "randomly" are from the Order.

The mortgage broker and part time hobo Daniel spoke to was helpful to him, though. Hmm...

Helpful yes, but only to make sure that Daniel made it safely back home to his house, which is being watched by the order/opaphid/tachyon.

Even though that video isnt part of the "canon", so who knows.

Hm, suprisingly gifted people living life off the beaten path...

I agree it's difficult to believe it is just coincidence.

Maybe I've just got Tachyon on the brain, but really, who ELSE do we know who seems brillient enough to get any job she wants and she chooses something crazy like "infiltrate cult and steal data?"

I think I remember reading that Tachyon worked for an organization of her own. Maybe these are somemore members.

One thing that punches a hole in that is Daniel's not wanting to trust Jonas, and going home rather than going to Jonas' house (but maybe he's point man back in their town, watching Lucy & Gemma, and the distrust was just an excuse)?!

yeh but he says he trusts the forum, n if we trust him then he trusts them, this coul dbe a big plan and they actually talked about the plan after the fake argument they had wen daniel stormed off

Good point. So his storming off was all staged for.... who? He and Bree should assume that people from teh Order are watching their videos, but they sure have seemed clueless to that , so far -- which is unlike either of them, really, so maybe they are using vlogs to set-up the Order flunkies (like Gemma grrrr).

maybe the fact that these two strangers gave up the more stable lives to live in an uncertain lifestyle is a hint to Daniel that although his job and his warm bed and Community College are comfurtable he needs to be with bree and Jonas (life change)

There's an angle that seems very real to the plot, krmurr87! I think you nailed it. It would let Daniel segue into leaving his home again without looking flakey, like "I've been thinking about that mortgage broker I met on the rails... you know? maybe I don't want this safe little life after all"

Something like that that gives him a reason to change his mind and still be the rational, cauitious Danielbest we know and love.

Maybe they are both people who lived busy lives and were in the Order, but had to leave and sink into anonymity.

I was thinking that they were talking in code as well. Theres just something odd about their conversations.

Also, they seem to be on rather friendly internet terms considering Daniel "didn't trust" jonas and apparently flipped out and went home.
