My family told me the same thing. They didn't get that it's not really a 'sleep' issue. It's a weird brain thing.Ennovi wrote:You forgot the "freaked out and scared part".. I researched on it alot as well. Very interesting stuff. I shared it with all my family who has never experienced it. All they told me was to get some sleep!
I know!!?!trainer101 wrote: My family told me the same thing. They didn't get that it's not really a 'sleep' issue. It's a weird brain thing.
The best way to control it seems to be by taking a nap sometime during the day or early evening. It allows your brain to get the rest it needs - especially if you sleep in short spurts anyway.Luv2Skydive wrote:That sounds like my dream a few weeks ago but luckily it's isolate. It's only happened twice in the past year......but it's one of the weirdest sensations. I tried to explain it to my husband (who can fall asleep in 2 seconds flat) and he just looked confused.trainer101 wrote:What happens in a sleep paralysis episode is your brain disconnects from your body - which is normal, by the way - it's natures way of keeping you from physically acting out your dreams. Have you ever attempted to take control of it?
I graduated years ago.....1998 with a teaching degree and figured out within 2 years that I don't like kids if they aren't mine. I taught middle school math.....they are evil.Ennovi wrote:It is Management Information Systems... basically the implementation of technology in business.Luv2Skydive wrote: What's your major, btw?Sounds boring, I know. I wasn't always this way with sleep......it got worse after I had kids and more stress.......how abour you guys?
I don't remember any particularly stressful triggering event. My head always seems to have a million simutaneous thoughts though. My friends and partners make fun of me for it. Explains why I can be online til 4am and still get up early for business, I guess.Luv2Skydive wrote:I graduated years ago.....1998 with a teaching degree and figured out within 2 years that I don't like kids if they aren't mind.
