Very good idea, oxdel. That's kind of how I feel about everything.I'm just going to treat this as if we're being baited, no mater who offers this information, from now on.
Whoever or whatever entity is responsible for the LonellyGirl15 phenomenon, they are obviously more creative than I--and I'm a writer, for land's sake. I mean, come on! It's my job to make stuff up and even I'm not THAT good.
Let's take for granted that this is a created art rather than a real girl (of which I'm not 100% convinced...about 99.8%, but not yet 100%). Think about this: these people created a fake girl, posted videos from her on YouTube. They then create a fake boy who is infatuated with fake girl. And then there's the fact that the filmmakers pull of an amazing Harry-Potteresque progression of difficulty. The early videos, like the early books, tended to be longer, one-shots or two shots, very few cuts and almost no effects beyond out of the can stuff. Now, they're flash cutting and time-lapsing (two fairly difficult things to do), and there are the edits.
They then created this site -- which was registered beforehand (good planning on their parts) and a fairly convincing MySpace profile. What's to say that they aren't also driving the "I've figured out who LonelyGirl15 is" crowd too?
After all, it's not inconceivable that this was an intricately planned event that has been months, if not years in the making. The NeoPets sites, the flash-video presentations of pictures of Jessica Rose (the most likely real name to surface so far. The girl in the pictures is 100% definitely our Bree.), all of these sites, these 'clues' could be planted months, even a year or more, in advance.
From the 'non-Bree' photos I've seen of LonelyGirl15, I've come to one conclusion: she's a student of the New York Film Academy's West Coast campus. There are several very telling shots from the Universal Studios lot, where the Los Angeles campus is located. The swimming video is almost definitely south of the Valley in Los Angeles, and in one of the restaurant candids of our Jessica Rose, the girl is wearing a "New York Film Academy" tee-shirt. And they don't have a gift shop.
So either a.) our girl Bree is a film student at the New York Film Academy, or b.) her parents have become less than concerned about their daughter's future career path and let her attend a summer camp at the New York Film Academy. Occam's Razor certainly should come into play.
Either way, it's entertaining as hell.
