I think it may just give an contrast between Daniel and Bree. What IS Daniel's religion, anyway?

Maybe he thinks it will help him not jump Bree's bones. He IS a teenager and he does like her, and they are all alone.....

First of all, if I remember correctly, Daniel is Jewish. I think there was a joke that Bree's Dad had a problem with him because he's a Jew.

I agree with BK that he was reading the Bible to do research on Bree's "religion." The only other explanation is too uninteresting--that he was reading it out of boredom.

But I think the creators are showing us this to direct our research towards the Bible as well. Many have noted that there is a Book of Daniel, which refers often to "The Beast." It's pretty clear that the name "DanielBeast" is connected with this reference.

In proving longitude wrong, we had some discussion on the video boards about what the time 7:10 could be referring to. By far the most interesting theory was that it refers to a verse in the Bible. And 7:10-7:12 of the Book of Daniel seems quite interesting:

What could this mean? I'm very far from a biblical scholar, so I may be completely wrong, but this passage seems to depict a sacrifice of the Beast to an evil force.

There is some confusion, by the way, about what applies to Daniel and what doesn't (that is, if this Biblical reference has any truth). In the Book of Daniel, "Daniel" is a king of Babylon, recounting the details of his dream in which he sees "Four Beasts." So how do we merge these identities into DanielBeast? Perhaps he has characteristics of both Biblical references? He is a double sided coin?

Just a little info....most bibles in hotels are Gidgeon's bible version. Just to let you know. Though sometimes they can even be mormon bibles.

it's the Gideons! She's trying to give us a message! One of them will stop her on the street (the man in the suit) and give her a bible and she'll scream and then the Gideon Krump Dancing crew will come out and start dancing.

Um, I remember someone posting something about him being jewish..but they were assuming he was because of his nose I think (don't get pissy with me, it wasn't me). I don't recall the videos ever containing any info on his religion.

I'm pretty sure you're correct. I don't remember a specific vid announcing his religion. More like some of the idiots on YouTube making fun of his nose.

Yeah, those idiots should be more sensitive.....it's not Daniel's fault he looks like Telly from Sesame Street.

I think so too...he know's he has to be THE MAN and he doesn't know what to do so he doesn't do anything. He wants to protect Bree but he can't go to the authorities so what are his options?
