And another thing--shouldn't Gemma be saying "YOU'VE BEEN FOUND!!" (shouting, all caps, panicked) rather than "You're being followed," (like they're going anywhere)? And shouldn't her next words be, "STOP STAYNG PUT!" rather than, "Gotta write a paper"?

I'm also going with Miller's Tale, rather than Minos, mostly because of the following elements:

1) Nicholas is into esoteric knowledge, viz, astrology and the prediction of weather, which links up nicely with all the talk of stars, planets, and longitude, etc.
2) the flood (another water reference, as a couple of people have already pointed out),
and 3) " She'd thinned out carefully her eyebrows two,
And they were arched and black as any sloe." [Sorry, I couldn't help myself.]

As for how this might move the plot along, I'm completely at a loss, because I can't figure out what Gemma is all about. Is she really supposed to be delivering her lines like that? (Plus, how many times can she say "video" without sounding like she's short-circuiting?) Ok, /b*tching.

bree and d are on the run from folks just such as the guy by the pool, and they did not pick up on that when they were there, living it. gemma is helping bree by pointing out the guy from across the ocean? yeah, i'm missing something or this is far more simplistic than i thought. when people were first pointing out the guy by the pool, i thought " yeah right, no one else but them out by the pool, and a guy with a suit walks by..if that's a clue, where is shaggy?" but no, it's actually a clue. i guess gemma's favorite sport actually is the plunge.

So, there is something to be said for those of you who perhaps over-analyze the videos. I suppose it is a hit or miss approach....Yes, you were right about the man in the suit but no, you were wrong about the code between Gemma and Bree. It's obvious now that Gemma has no problem being straight forward with her friend.
As for myself, I don't know what to think anymore. Daniel, who always seemed to be a man of action, is sitting around reading the Bible. Bree, who has lived her whole life with her parents as the north star in her world, is making blogs about how she misses them as if they're on vacation. And Gemma is giving warped advice such as "stay put" when she knows they're being watched by The Order. Of course, 3/4 of her videos show no concern whatsoever for Bree or Daniel! The whole lot of them are acting strange.
It's entertainment but shouldn't they base their characters off of emotion and behavior that is just a tad more realistic? If we will only be given more and more clues with no answers, then at least have them be delivered is a convincing manner.
Can anyone tell that I'm annoyed? Ha ha! I used to be a huge fan but I'm growing impatient now. Sorry for the intensity folks!

Yeah. I don't know where the "bugged" theory came from. I think someone was just throwing that out there.

But you are right about the In Character Emotion. They are so not convincing.
