You know I'm not and I actually suggested the donation button if they are that hard up. That's far from corporate and fan suggested so .....silvermoon wrote:Plant.

Hey phorum kidz:
Old School fan here and I am NOT pleased with this whole thing, although it did make me even come here and post again...
This whole thing just reeks of something really cheesy and I DON'T think that Yousef is the culprit.
Miles, you are on notice

come on..your acting as if the creators would try and make the world believe that their character was a real person and not admitt the truth until someone else outs them first.....hey wait a sec.curiousGeorge wrote:Hey phorum kidz:

I agree, especially about Jessica. I think that, if her career moves the right way, Jessica could be the next Katie Holmes - apart from the Tom Cruise part, of course.khjq wrote:I think Jessica has the potential to become a wonderful actress...Yousef could probably be a great actor too, but I haven't really seen any great acting from him.

I second this diss...I haven't been able to figure out how to word it so I haven't said anything about her either, but you did a good job here. There is something very irritating about the whole "reporter" angle. And the omnipotence....me no likey.Languorous Lass wrote:Based on what? All I've seen are a few fan-created vids (which I personally find annoying and pointless) and some "mysterious" posts on the forum. I get the sense that Nikki is somebody who's trying to use the Breeniverse to advance her own career.blade8r wrote:there is no denying the fact that you are a part of the LG15 universe.
I didn't plan on dissing Nikki publicly until I saw this post, but it bothers me that people may be taking her vids as canon. Until I see those vids posted on the left side of the home page along with Bree's and Daniel's and Gemma's videos, I will regard her as a poseur.
Me and my key...same as it ever was.
Why Yousef's announcement? Why now?
I don't see any plausible explanation of this whole debacle other than that it was a publicity stunt.
The creators make us think that Yousef is fired and that the series is about to fall apart. Then they tell us he's not fired, but... um... they really need our cash. Could this have all been a publicity stunt to plug their new cash-generating mechanisms? To scare us with a nightmare scenario in which LG15 falls apart?
Don't get me wrong, LG15 is really entertaining and interesting--the creators and actors certainly deserve compensation, and a lot more than they are probably receiveing right now. But this whole affair reeks of tilapia.
I think the burden is definitely on the creators to explain Yousef's MySpace post if they want to establish trust with their fans.

They -did- explain. They said that there is no more money (or that it's running out) and that they're self-funded.
Yousef's post never once said he was -fired-, per se. Just that he was told to look for other employment. And if I was part of a project with just a few people involved, and they ran out of funding, I'd want that kind of heads up ahead of time, too. So I can see where his post came from.
C'mon, y'all. He's young(ish), and an aspiring actor. Scratch that -- he's an actor outright, even if it's just this series. If he saw that coming to a possible close, a passionate post on myspace wouldn't be out of the question, especially when his profile is closed to all but "friends" over there. It's like venting to a couple thousand of your closest buddies -- and then it was posted here and people have gone absolutely batsh*t.
The issue here is fundability of something like this. It's a big, relatively expensive project that we're all benefitting from -- and it's not beyond the scope of sanity to think that if the money's not there to make it self-supporting, they just can't do it anymore. It's the way the grown-up world of hobbies-turned-popular -works-.
I'm just sayin'.

How many journal entries over on Myspace have you seen where a young person is prone to hyperbole?
He was stung about the creators telling him to find other employment for money, and in the resulting Sad, made a blog post for friends that was his own interpretation of the event through a Young And Dramatic filter.
It's nothing against Yousef, either. It's just the nature of blogland.

Yeah, ok, but he also knows that us lunatics are gonna read that and think he was fired....and he put that thing about not being a good enough actor for the project in there...that doesn't sit right with me. That sounds like something someone said to him or at least implied to him.
