If it weren't canon, there are some potential problems the creators would have walked right into: if Bree is saying that Gemma knows her from back then, we can assume that Gemma's comments about what happened in Brees past (when they were friends) are true. If she isn't controlled by the creators then this could create some huge gaps in continuity. Plus I interpret it as saying "watch Gemma's films, they are important."
They don't really need to encourage fan videos that much, there are a BUNCH of them.

well, i committed myself to saying gemmers isn't canon, so i'm biased. i certainly didn't expect a response from bree of any kind. it think it is kind of cool The Creators saw the fans wanted this. Since Gemmers in real life is a friend of Jess Rose, maybe they felt they could trust her not to make another response video that went off the deep end. If The Creators are filming Gemmers19's videos, then I'm all wrong.

I remember the poignant turtle story from...er...that one vid, and and then this vid, and I've seen her mention turtles in her earlier comments here and there. Then, of course, there's Owen. Are turtles a clue? A really slow clue?
Similar to what Bree mentioned about "turtles all the way down" is the fact that in Terry Pretchett's Discworld novels, the world (a disc) rests on the backs of four (or five) elephants. The elephants stand on the back of the great A'tuin (forgive my spelling, Discworld fans) -- an intergalactic turtle whose gender is undetermined as well as the location towards which it is swimming through space.

You get freaked out about stuff like that?TheFatLady wrote:I was all freaked out when I logged on because there were 13 pages about this video and I couldn't even view it.

Shooting antique watches is my preferred way of killing time. Having run out of watches earlier this evening, I decided to partake of the posting action and, after a while, to join the fun. Finally, I look into this thread and find you guys managed to fill FIFTEEN PAGES before the vid was even up!
You're telling me. I've been weeping at the way I've been killing time online. I need to get some watches tomorrow. This is hard-core sad.

But you shouldn't feel sad.
Have a Jelly Baby* and SMILE!

Even sadder is the fact that I feel I *missed* something by not being here to contribute to that fifteen.
You did miss something. Off-topic posting!
I for one am touched that you felt you'd missed out on contributing to the Fifteen Pages of Nothingness (which sounds like some Thread of Chainsmoking and Existential Angst).
Seriously.

You might want to try something like this:If Bree's injections are meant to help her kick a serious internet habit, I need that prescription.

*EDIT: Jelly Babies are mmm-mmm good. They make me smile.

i know it was uncouth to partake in 15 pages of OT matter before the matter at hand was discussed, but it WAS fun.
I'm glad that I finally got to interact with you guys. I hope you have a good evening/morning.
We could have done worse ....

And now we have TWO videos of clues besides this one.
I think people fail to notice that we actually got 3 vids tonight.

I'm still waiting for interpretation junkies to decide that Gemma's mother named her in honor of Gemma Frisius, author of De Principiis Astronomiae Cosmographicae and maker of John Dee's Jacob's staff...Penny wrote:I take one FREAKING night off from here and BREE has the nerve to post the HI GEMMA vlog! ...and for other people to point out that Bree's childhood friend is, unlike the Renaissance figure, a girl. This side will argue that the character's name has no relation to Mercator's friend and that Gemma is "just" a girl's name.
I find such debates entertaining.

EDIT: If you're unfamiliar with the work of Gemma Frisius, you might want to find an online description of De Principiis Astronomiae Cosmographicae. Consider that the book was one of the major works of Renaissance astrology/astronomy, and geography/cartography. Is the material relevant to LG15?
Perhaps not. Coincidences-- and resonances-- happen.

<does nerdly little victory dance>Milowent, I'll take your bet. I think Gemma is canon.

to be honest I am slightly dissapointed, I think that they should have introduced this character slightly earlier maybe before bree started to question her religion because having this blog here really takes away from the momentum which has been built up in the bree and daniel storyline. I mean what happend when she went home to confront her parents
