Yeah! We like our long rambling chats... and the good thing is, you don't really have to browse multiple pages to catch up. Just jump in. We're just chatting randomly, so it's not like you're going tomiss much. :)

Yeah, I think I come from a sensitive family on my mothers side, we all trust our instincts... but I've had times when I can't imagine shrugging off a sensation of there being someone in the room with me, because it almost feels like how it does when someone's trying to stare you down and you're trying to ignore it (like the LG15 proving science wrong!) or it feels like you're bracing to get bumped into or even spoken to. I'm sure it sounds crazy to most people, but you just feel it, and it's scary and exciting and gives me goosebumps every time! A few times I've gotten the feeling that it was influencing what I was feeling emotionally, like suddenly I'd feel that something was in the room, and I'd be really confused, but it wasn't like it was me being actually confused. *sigh* That sounds crazy, but that's how it feels.

Oooo, I'm gonna go look up that hospital! I think that even if none of it is real, and I'm just tricking myself into feeling and seeing things, who cares? I believe, and it makes life more mysterious and interesting, and it's not like it's something that affects my worldview or my ability to function in life. I think I've gotten the "you must be stupid and gullible" response from people too much, can you tell?

Aww!! I dont think it's stupid OR gullible. I think it's sensitivity...and cute as a button!! ;)

I gather there have been a few different "ghost hunters" that have gone into the hospital. The pictures are rather creepy, with old files and beds and whatnot. There's one pic out there of an old nasty child's toy that's kinda freaky looking.

And you're damn straight, who cares if none of it is real? Honestly, how is your belief in something like that damaging someone else?

I dont think you're crazy at all. You're just sensitive and perceptive.
I live right across the river from one of the most haunted towns in America, Alton Illinois. Serious spook activity going on up there. And then St. Louis has the Lemp Mansion. The Lemp Brewery was the Budweiser of its day. Every single one of the Lemp family members committed suicide. Every. Single. One. Not all at once like a cult suicide pact, more like a family curse or something....

Weeeeeeeird...

I used to be friends with a girl in high school whose mother worked as a prison social worker (or counselor or something in prisons). She met and struck up a relationship with the guy who was responsible for killing his entire family in the house that later became the Amityville Horror. Apparently, according to the book/movie, he was possessed and killed them all in one night with an axe, and that spawned the haunting in the book/movie. The mother said the guy was really nice, really smart and normal. He claimed to have no memory of ever doing anything... creepy.

Heck, when it comes to "Really nice, really smart, really normal":

1. When my Dad was growing up in Massachussetts, the lady from next door came over in the wee hours of the morning, hammering on the door. My grandmother got up out of bed and let them in--her and her two kids. Her husband was in hot pursuit, absolutely madly homicidal. Wife had woken up with him holding a rag soaked in ammonia over her mouth and nose, he was trying to kill her, she managed to get free and get herself and the kids out of the house. My dad and his brothers held the door shut against him trying to break it down while Grandma called the cops. He'd always been normal, nice, etc. Then just SNAPPED that night.

2. This from a friend: guy he knew, Navy officer, was serving in the Boston area. Met a very attractive, nice, intelligent woman on the subway or whatever it is they call it there. They "hooked up", and one night, while he was sleeping, he was awakened by her pummeling and clawing the living crap out of him, and (I quote) "Speaking in a voice no human being should be able to utter". This guy was a Black Belt, and this little 110 lb girl was beating him bloody; he tried to just use defensive moves while he tried to find a way to phone the cops. Apparently the neighbors heard the inhuman screeching from next door and called 911. The cops showed up, took one look at the guy beaten and bloody, and the insane woman, and immediately took her down. She went to the place with padded walls and nice, sleeveless jackets. The guy is now a born-again Christian...never had any inclinations to such beforehand....
