I thought the public was aware of the HoO but not the Order and certainly not how the two are connected.

actually it was said in a public video by bree ( no I don't remember which one) that the HoO was like the "something" branch of the order.
So we kinda do know how they are connected and I guess it doesn't matter. Considering that everyone in the breeniverse would have seen that video.

The "Faction: [insert faction here]. Status: [insert status here]" parts of the video descriptions are more than likely not actually part of the vid descriptions in the fictional world. It probably stops at "-Bree."

To expand on Lulrker's explanation:

On YouTube, there is no 'Faction/Status' portion of the description. In other words, if YouTube is seen as the real life POV of the events, and LG15.com is a more behind-the-scenes look, it makes total sense.
