Newbie

Post by LittleChickie »

Hiya all!! I'm a newbie here to the forum. Well, to LG15 in general really. I've been addicted to YT for a long time, but not really LG15. Then yesturday, Saturday, I watched the Sing with Me video. I was bored and figured I'd watch some more Bree videos. I spent the rest of the day watching the videos from all of the LG15 series. I think I've watched most of them. Now I understand it enough to get the story and am hooked on it. I think I subscibed to like 8 different accounts yesturday to make sure I get videos on things. LOL

I was looking on this site yesturday and I have to say you all amaze me. How easily you all look into these videos and everything blows me away. I'm not very good at looking deep into stuff. At least not videos. I think I'll enjoy sitting back and letting the geniouses of it do it. lol Glad to help if I can.

Okay, my disease of runaway fingers is getting at me again. haha I'll go now.

TTT:Granted, but the fairy takes your credit card instead of leaving money and gets like fifty lap dances w/ it.

Okay, I have a question. Figured I'd just put it here.

I don't get the ARG thing. What is that? I see alot of people having post with it in it. Could someone explain to this dumn newbie?

ARG = Alternate Reality Game. This basically what Cassieiswatching, Opaphid, FacilityJ, and Maddison Atkins were all about. Videos with clues and drops and codes and everything to make it an interactive game. LG15 has long been stuffed with clues and has been becoming more and more and ARG by itself recently. Hence the code in Dad's letter transmitted by Daniel in the DB chat forum, or the hidden messages in Bree's last commercials.

ARG stands for Alternate Reality Game. Basicly, instead of playing a game on your computer, or xbox, or whatever, you play it using things like youtube, craigslist, and myspace.

I'm going to get you some links to explain it better than I can.

Okay!! Thank you two! You've been much help.

I'm much better at solveing puzzles on paper and in books. haha On the computer is something kind of new to me. I like those kinds of games though. maybe I should play more of them, I'd actually understand how to figure stuff out here. haha

What is an ARG?
An alternate reality game (ARG) is a type of game that overlaps the game world with reality, by utilizing real world media, in order to deliver an interactive narrative experience to the players.

For more on ARG's and what they are, please see the following link: http://tinyurl.com/qy5hs
ARG Rules:
Maintain the attitude that 'this is not a game!' (TiNaG)
Work Together! Collaboration is the key to solving any puzzle!
Stay in character!
For more on TINaG, Please refer to this site.
Common ARG Terms:
IG: In Game
OOG: Out Of Game
IC: In Character
OOC: Out Of Character
Puppet Master (PM): Person (people) behind the scenes
Shill: Someone in association with the PM, who plays as the biggest fan, etc
Drop: A clue, dropped off, in which players find and share in order to move along the story.
Those are the basic characteristics of an ARG. There are many ARG's centered around LG15, FacilityJ and Maddison Atkins being the most active, at this point. :)
