I'm sure he's alright, he probably just needed a break from this...some people do from time to time.

He probably got tired of Kassia chasing him all over the place.
Also, he said he had some girl (mysterious...not gf) who might read the thread and get upset with him....hmmm...

I'm sure he is. This is typical Internet shit. People get all wrapped up with others on the boards, and it gets to be a little too much sometimes.

Just re-read this... Nick was just like that, too - major perfectionist, had to do everything right. Best thing to do is to focus on the "I did my best" part of things, and keep reminding him that he just does things differently from other kids... I kept reinforcing the fact that My Boy couldn't possibly be stupid - look at the math, kiddo - that once we got a handle on just how we needed to go about this reading thing for him to learn it, he'd do fine. I think I told you in a PM that when he finally "got it," he brought his own reading level ahead about two years over less than one academic year? Unfortunately, because he still remembers the stigma of the whole special ed thing from first grade (at 20 years old), he'll never read for pleasure, but he actually said something at dinner last night (I'm down visiting this weekend) about how much he enjoys being able to easily read anything he puts his mind to in order to find whatever info he needs. Colin just needs to find that niche...and he will!Aithne wrote:No, he was a nervous wreck. In fact, he started acting out the min. he was reminded that he had the evaluation today. As a result of his choices he was grounded from the computer and television today. When it was over he did not want to talk about it. The only thing he would say was, "She thought I was smart when I was doing math, I bet when she heard me read, she was thinking this kid is stupid". When I tried to talk to him about it he said, "Can we drop it? I did my best. I went. Do I have to talk about it now too? Just drop it, ok?" He has never spoken to me like that before, so part of me was like WTF, while the other part could tell that he was beating himself up over it. But there isn't anything I could do about it.

Chelsey, where do you get all the very cool smileys - link, please?
I so hate it when pop comes outta my nose...the bubbles make it really uncomfortable...and it scares the dog... <snarfle>longlostposter wrote:I'm so not checking out Bree's ass...her brain is attached to it.
