Yes, Panda, this is exactly who I was thinking of. Thanks for finding this! I did a quick search on MySpace and couldn't find him, so I guess he's not the Dr. referred to in the video. Not sure whether this is at all relevant, but the author of a book related to "the events on Ash Tree Lane", called "House of Leaves" (I think someone already mentioned it) is Mark Danielewski.

Gulf Coast is proud to present two of its most distinguished contributors from the Summer/Fall 2007 issue. Selections from David McGee's "Drawings for Lorenzo"—his eight-painting feature in Gulf Coast—will be on display at Texas Gallery. And later, Mark Z. Danielewski will read from his novel Only Revolutions, which was a finalist for a 2006 National Book Award.
