Forumphobia?

Post by Emmie »

Don't be afraid, Jonas... if Bree and Daniel can do it, you can, too!

Seriously, dude. What gives? Did we scare you away?

(Bree, Daniel, if you stumble on this... you know what to do. Give the boy a nudge for us.)

Jonas, menudo is considered a hangover cure. I don't know if you've ever tried the stuff or know what it is, but I would suggest not only avoiding eating it on any morning after...but don't be anywhere close to where it's cooking.

If your stomach isn't upset already, just smelling it boiling away will surely <gulp> do it... <shudder>

I'd take Juli up on any suggestions she has instead, personally...
Diane, or cher, or even chershaytoute, but "Hey, you!" works, too...

WWggD - let's make the Breeniverse a better place to live...

To my chagrin, I'm joining the girls chorus on this. Where are you, man? Have we a Luddite in our midst?

What is menudo, Cher? I thought you were talking about the band for a minute (which is surely enough to make anyone ralph).

Hangover remedy:

First of all, I take three aspirin before going to bed. That usually takes care of the headache part.

When I get up, I drink an entire 2 liter of soda, and if there is some residual headache, I put a couple of headache powders in the first glass (it's really not that bad). Then I eat as much bland food as I can comfortably eat. Then (back in my ganja days) I would smoke a joint. By the time I was done with this ritual, the hangover would be totally gone within an hour. It works without the joint, but it takes a little longer.

Menudo is Tripe Soup. Recipe below:

2 lbs honeycomb tripe
1 (1 1/2 lb) veal knuckle
6 cups water
3 medium onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 (15 ounce) can hominy
dried chile pequins or crushed red pepper flakes
lime wedges

1. Cut tripe into 1-inch pieces.
2. Place in a dutch oven with veal knuckle, water, onions, garlic, salt, coriander, oregano, the 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper, and the pepper.
3. Simmer, covered, 3 hours until tripe is clear and jellylike in appearance and veal is tender.
4. Remove veal knuckle from pot.
5. When cool enough to handle, discard bones, chop meat and return to pot.
6. Add undrained hominy.
7. Cover and simmer 20 minutes longer.
8. Serve with pequin chilies or crushed red pepper to taste.
9. Garnish with lime wedges.

Juli, it still shocks me to see you begging for Jonas to come join the forums. Or is it only because you want to give him hangover remedies so he can take care of your Daniel?

Nah! I just want to ask him a few questions. However, he is cute, just not as manly as DB.

I have a hangover prevention. Drink 1 Gator-aid for each drink you had throughout the night before going to bed. I usually chug these on the ride home. Don't forget to take an Advil with your last Gator-aid.
It has worked for me everytime
