names and religious hints?

Post by tannhaus »

Ok, I was thinking about something. It may or may not be right. First, I thought about "Danielbeast". Now, in the Old Testament, the prophet Daniel was thrown into the lion's den. So, Daniel's beast would be the lion.

The name "Ariel" is the Hebrew which means "Lion of God". Ariel is the angel of Air in the occult. Air deals with intellectual pursuits. From the very first, Daniel was trying to research and advise Bree. The name Daniel means "judge of God" in Hebrew. That again fits in with his character as he acted towards Bree's religion and trying to get to the bottom of everything.

If you look at the Wycliffe Bible, Jonah (as in Jonah and the Whale) is translated as Jonas. It's also used interchangeably with Jonah in the King James version New Testament. The word Jonah means "dove". But, the Bible says that Jonah was swallowed by a great fish. So, we have two animals associated with Jonah: the fish and the dove.

Now, under Jewish law, there were two times a dove was sacrificed:

1. shortly after childbirth - a dove as the woman's offering

2. after Niddah (temporary marital separation due to menstruation) or recovery from zivah (abnormal bodily discharges)

Both menstration and childbirth have to do with the continuation of life, of course.

However, for the fish being sacrificed, we have to look no further than Christ. The word fish in Greek is ichthus. If you take each letter to form a new word, you get "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour." So, the symbol of the fish is the symbol of Christ.

Of course, the dove is symbolic in the New Testament of the spirit of God.

Now, Jonas has been a bit of a saviour to Bree and Daniel. But, does his name hint to his possibly becoming a sacrifice to save them?

I just find it odd that both names, Daniel and Jonas, are the names of famous Old Testament prophets. It's also odd that both have firm associations with animals.

Or maybe Jonas will be a sacrifice as part of the ceremony itself (to revive one of my theories from months and months ago)?

BTW, hello, tannhaus. I've heard lots about you, but haven't had the chance to "meet" you before. It's a pleasure.
