OK, now that is super-cool. I hope Walter hasn't drastically changed his cryptosystem!Luminous wrote:Check this out:

This is a decoder McPackage built for decoding Walter style number sequences. He built it just for us!
Now all we have to do is figure out what to run through it.![]()
I will post this on the Facility J page in LGpedia in the tool box.

Facility J: Will the last disgruntled employee to leave please destroy The Cure?
Something I just noticed. Every time Walter has given us a series of random letters which has been a viginere key, those letters have been lower case. This time the letters IKYOIYK are all capitalized. To me, this reinforces the idea that this is not a key, a conclusion most of you have come to already, I guess I'm a little slow. Maybe someone else has already mentioned this, and I missed it. I think it definitely eliminates the option of these letters being a key, and emphasizes that they are, infact, the text we are to decode. I don't know if this moves us any farther forward or not, but I just thought I'd share the observation.
I think that "eliminates" might be a bit strong of a word, but that's a really good point - I hadn't thought of that.Luminous wrote:Something I just noticed. I think it would have been lowercase if he intended us to use it as a key. Instead its uppercase - like aminos, only we know they aren't aminos. I think we may very well be on the right track with the elements.TOSG wrote:I think that "eliminates" might be a bit strong of a word, but that's a really good point - I hadn't thought of that.Luminous wrote:Something I just noticed. And, as has already been observed, 8 corresponds with electron shells, and + / - can relate to acid / base (although I'm not sure which one is which).

I'm desperate.
How possible is it that information from a previous drop/puzzle factors into this? I'm going to look.

Walter updated his profile to say
111113131117111131113
Which lead to if (a=1) the sequence:
aaa aac aca aag aaa aca aac
Jane took IKYOIYK and converted it to Octal to get :It is tough being an Octalgenarian. You kids may be young now, but you will eventually Convert to be like me, no matter how Plain you start.
