What did Daniel expect??

Ok, so I'm buying that Daniel loosened off Jonas' ties...

But what did he expect to happen next? That he would leave the room, Jonas would free himself and make everyone some hot chocolate and muffins?

Why didn't Daniel hang around when he set Jonas free?

And why didn't Jonas jump up as soon as he was helped and run then? Why did he wait for Daniel to leave the room? I know if I was tied up for days on end, if someone helped set me free I'd get moving right away!

So many questions, so few answers!!

yea i kind of felt like slapping daniel for that one too.
I think JOnas prolly didn't want to jump up and leave because he does have an ounce of respect for daniel. He felt like he should respect him just a little bit and make daniel feel confident...

i think daniel was trying to make jonas more comfortable, and show that he trusted him.... he wasn't actually TRYING to free him.....well, so much for that

believe me in the "real world" I think Jonas could take down Daniel anyday. But considering this is the breeniverse I think he waited for Daniel to leave because Daniel could have caught him and tied him up again. I mean how did they get him into that chair to begin with only Daniel and Bree?

Bit of a strech, but more realistically, there was probably SOMETHING secretive he needed to do.

Which makes him suspicious.
Not badbadorder suspicious, but it means he definitely had/has something to hide.

There is still something to find out about him.

Well. Actually, right now there's a LOT to find out about him, but you know what I mean.

Again, more realistically, he wanted a head start. Danial/Bree would have chased him if he had ran right away. It would have been harder to get away cleenly. I'm not saying Bree or Danial could take him on, but they could follow him. And again, he might have been going somewhere or with someone he wanted to keep secret.

I really really hope he has something to hide. Not that he's bad, but just that this whole thing isn't a huge boring oh-jonas-is-innocent-and-bree-made-a-huge-mistake thing. Pointless plot twist = not cool.

Edit: Oh, and he needed to grab the car keys and possibly his phone, assuming he brought the phone with and both weren't already on him, which would have been a very stupid move on Bree and Danial's part.

I'd like to have heard Jonas tell Daniel he wouldn't leave.

"No, bro, it's okay. I'll just sit here, I promise, I won't try and get away. Thanks for loosening my hands, man they were starting to chafe."

Well, he didn't actually "set Jonas free" (at least according to the story Daniel tells). He just loosened the ropes, because he didn't want to completely set him free -- probably because he wanted to be able to tell Bree truthfully, "No, I didn't untie him/cut him loose."

Plus, he probably thought that Jonas just needed to go take a piss. Why would he hang around to watch that? He doesn't like it when other people watch him urinate.

Two points:

1) Daniel didn't completely untie him/cut him loose -- Jonas still had to do some work to get free.

2) Jonas promised Daniel he wouldn't "do anything." I assumed he meant "escape." So if Jonas actually planned to escape, he wouldn't do it in front of Daniel.

I think Daniel let him go completely, I mean he said he loosened him but his hands were zip tied to that chair, you cant "loosen" zip ties and those things are impossible to break. Cops use them in riots in place of handcuffs. So he would've had to free his hands. With his hands free it would've been too easy to get loose. Daniel knew he'd get loose. Prolly felt bad for tyin him up. Maybe Daniel set Jonas loose to meet up with someone? Tachyon? Or Daniel set him up in a trap, told him Bree was crazy and to run like hell for help then contacted the order to tell them he was on the loose so they could pick him up. Daniel hid the keys from Bree so she wouldnt wanna go after him to give him time to get away/ get picked up.

I dunno, just a thought

I think Daniel want to please everyone. He was thorn between his friends.
Jonas wanted him to untie him. Bree wanted him to keep Jonas tied up.
If Daniel just loosed the ropes a bit. Jonas could escape, but Bree wouldn't get so mad at Daniel.
