Daniel needs to grow a pair, Bree needs to grow up
Is anyone else sad that Daniel always does whatever Bree wants him to and never makes any decisions for himself, despite the fact that he constantly disagrees with her?
He had a good idea with callying Tachyon...WHY wouldn't he have? He can videotape Jonas freaking out and "loosen his bindings a little" against Bree's wishes, but he can't man up and contact someone who might have a clue what to do in this situation?
And as for Bree, I respect the fact that she's going through a lot and she's way too young...but she needs to just stop trying to do everything herself, because she simply can't, and this is too big for her to keep learning that the hard way.

Welcome to the forum, going_somewhere!
I do agree with your assessment of Daniel. He does make some snap judgements of his own. When he does that, he usually ends up in trouble.
I did want to extend a welcome, and I want to help out as well. You are new here, and so you were unaware that this topic you started actually belongs in the Plot Discussion thread. I am going to move it there for you now.

Welcome, going_somewhere.
I don't know how I feel about Daniel's behavior, to be honest. While Jonas was captive I kind of wanted him to stand up to Bree a little more, but at the same time, I understand why he didn't, and can respect why he didn't.
He's scared to make Bree mad at him. And after what happened with him getting captured, I think he's scared to make decisions in general. He wants to let Bree be in charge, but he doesn't agree with how she's handling things. However, he's too afraid of upsetting her and too afraid of having to decide what to do.
I think Daniel's been more submissive ever since his kidnapping. He wanted to just run after they got him back. He didn't go outside when Bree and Jonas confronted that Watcher. He almost sounded like a kid when he said he didn't want to tie Jonas but went along with it because Bree was so upset. Etc. Etc.
Either consciously or subconsciously, he wants Bree to be in charge (this isn't meant in that way, guys; nor was the "submissive" thing; I'm talking to you especially, longlostposter), probably for a variety of reasons. I'd guess some of them are: he's afraid to make decisions now; he's afraid in general and wants the security of someone telling him what needs to be done - this may have something to do with his estrangement from his parents; he's in love with Bree, and in his mind, there's probably no one better to take orders from. But at the same time he knows she's made some bad decisions. He just doesn't know how to handle it right now.

I agree with what your saying, but it just made me think....if he has been more submissive since the kidnapping, could this have something to do with him being under the control of OpAphid? Maybe because of his submissivness, his mind was easier to take control of---or maybe OpAphid has instructed him TO be submissive and let Bree make the decisions.Lurker wrote: I think Daniel's been more submissive ever since his kidnapping. Why is that? I don't get what you mean by this.Lurker wrote:Either consciously or subconsciously, he wants Bree to be in charge (this isn't meant in that way, guys; nor was the "submissive" thing; I'm talking to you especially, longlostposter),
EDIT: OK, I guess you meant because I like Daniel so much.
Also, I wanted to delete something inappropriate.
