Oh my god...a lifetime of them. My second home was at my gay uncle's house for many of my formative years.
I'm out..time for buying cigarettes that I'm not supposed to be smoking and slamming a disgusting energy drink in hopes my eyes will stay open while driving today.

Me and my key...same as it ever was.

As a reward for his hard work (and I know he's had a hard time of it, he gets a little edgy as the night goes on), I've discussed it with a friend and decided a sexy scavenger hunt is in order...
It will keep him busy while I'm at work and give him something to look forward too (nekkid me

Since I'm sober (10-year anniversary coming up in July), I've asked my GF not to drink if we're going to spend the night together. She's always done as I asked. I asked her recently whether she minded, and she said, "Hell, no! It's just a beer. No biggie."
Since I've always hung around alcoholics and near-alcoholics, nobody I've known has ever thought that being asked not to drink was "no biggie" before.
I'm really grateful for my GF (despite the, you know, lack of sex thing).

Aw, hell -- I'll just tell the story. I need to talk about it right now.
Basically, my GF moved to this city for me. She was right out of college (no, I'm not cradle-robbing -- she's retired military, entered right out of high school before she was 18, and got her degree when she got out of the military) and didn't really know what she wanted to do, so she took a job that sounded good.
She's been miserable in her job. She loves her coworkers, she loves her boss, but she hates what she does -- thinks it's intensely boring. She also hates this city. She doesn't like the commute, she doesn't like the weather, she doesn't like the traffic, she doesn't like a bunch of other things.
I love this city -- I own my home (just bought it recently). I also have a great job and upcoming possibilities for promotion. What's more, it would make no sense for me to leave this company, because I'm not that far from retirement (which sounds totally bizarre to me, because I can't imagine being old enough to retire, but in a few years I could take an early out), and the longer I stay with the company, the more $$ I'll be entitled to when I do leave.
GF has been telling me that she needs to leave her job. But every time I suggest a possible place for her to apply for a new job, she's come up with a reason for not doing so.
She finally told me about 10 days ago that when she quits her job (which she wants to do very soon), she's not willing to find another one in this city. What she does want to do, and where she wants to go, she's not sure. Right now she mostly knows what she doesn't want.
Neither of us is at the point of wanting to break up, but it's really hard to know what to do in this situation. I took a look on-line at jobs that are in my field to see if there are any opportunities elsewhere, but it's a rather specialized field, and most of the jobs are right here in the city where I/we now live.
I told her she needed to do whatever makes her happy -- she's really been miserable for weeks, if not months. Since we had that conversation, she seems a lot lighter and happier. But I don't want her to leave. We've been together longer than any relationship either of us has had before this, and I've never before lived with a GF I actually liked living with. (I did have that Dyke Drama situation I mentioned awhile back, though . . . ) So it makes me really sad to think of her moving out.
So that's what's up with me.
