if my mom went back to spending all her money on Merle Norman make-up and eating nothing but popcorn and buying shoes like crazy, i'd say that wasn't like her, even though it USED to be what she DID; when someone is one way for a while, anything different than that way is weird, even if it's reverting back to the old way.

Personalities change in time, so could it have been that Daniel, as a teen, had a gangsta surfer personality? this guy i knew was all hard rock and badass two years before I knew him, and by the time I knew him, he was a mild-mannered compy geek.

in other words, Daniel in "miss me" could have been an old personality.

If I remember right she had only known him for a couple of years as of "My Difficult Decision" (by which time he was almost 19). So she wouldn't have known him until he was 16 (almost 17), probably.

Not that I necessarily think Daniel used to behave like that (I have difficulty picturing it as anything but comical), but I just thought I should point that out.
