Almost Tachyon's Theme

Post by Renegade »

[WARNING: Check if your player supports Ogg Vorbis]
Rubenstein vs. Renegade - What Time Is It [Tachyon Theme - Lonely Mix]
Rubenstein vs. Renegade - What Time Is It [Tachyon Theme - Loud Shirt Mix]

Basically, what I did was reverse engineer the song structure and add a possible continuation of the part with lyrics we already have. Since I obviously can't magically create missing lyrics (and no comments now that I magically created the underlying music), I filled up the voiceless space with quotes from episodes.

Since I realize there may be situations where you don't want to hear Jonas babbling about Pins and Pints, for example, I exported two versions of the mix:
  • The Loud Shirt Mix -> full of episode quotes
  • The Lonely Mix -> few quotes
Loud Shirt Mix is exactly 5 mins long, Lonely Mix is 4:57. I divided them to seperate one-click hosters, so simultaneous or back-to-back downloading should be possible. The Megaupload.com link is bitching sometimes, just try again a minute later. If there are any problems, just tell.

Now here's the catch: I'm a progressive computer user. :P
I chose to encode the file with the superior and royalty free Ogg Vorbis codec, instead of your beloved MP3, simply because it sounds better at the same file size. So you should check whether your player supports that. I know for a fact that both XMMS and Winamp do, and I linked a list of supporting players at the top. If enough of you rebel, I'll supply MP3 versions tomorrow, but Ogg truly is superior - if your player supports it, don't cry for an MP3 version just because you're used to it. And if your player's manufacturer somehow thought it was smart not to implement playback for a free, high-quality audio codec, you should think about looking for a new media player anyway :P

Oh, and Disclaimer: Liking this is not guaranteed. I am not the composer. I just kinda hacked his creation.
(Mandatory pop culture reference: "This is not the greatest song in the world...this is just a tribute!")

Edit: Changed thread title, since the old one doesn't quite seem to spark interest.

Had to think about a video version as well, but that's big enough of a project for another time. :smt001

For now, I'm just listening to both tracks over and over again...damn theme is so addictive.

If I'm going to download a goodie to listen...which might be the bestest of goodies to download? (Windows XPing with a more than adequate system and a less than adequate user  - what else do you need to know about the system?)
Diane, or cher, or even chershaytoute, but "Hey, you!" works, too...
