Thanks for taking the time to post all that, lurker. I saw the first one, and liked it, so maybe it's better I don't see the second one.
Anyway, if they screwed it up so badly, there is cold comfort in the fact that the third one will probably bomb.
I went to McDonald's and they had stuff all over about the second movie. I got a game piece, and when I went to the Website, there was a soundbite of Johnny Depp saying, "Are you Mac enough" in the pirate voice. I nearly peed my pants laughing. How opaque can you get?

Agreed. Pirates 2 was terrible.
And agreed. Disney takes its sequels too far. Cinderella 3? Mkay.
The only sequel I can think of that was good was Spiderman 2. Le Sigh.
But I don't think that was disney anyway.

Pirates 2 did suck, especially compared to the first one. They did plan it all along though, in fact they started filming pirates 2 before the release of the first (if I remember correctly, otherwise it was literally weeks after the release.). If they did change it after the first did so well, that's probably why it sucked so bad, they didn't take very much time to change it lol.
Anyways I'm kind of in the middle of both groups. I don't want to see it end yet, but I want to start getting answers, see more action, ect. I'm getting a little tired of all the "filler" videos that seem to be unimportant. I think one of my biggest problems is we get sooooooo many "filler" videos and then only one really great, action packed video. Which still leaves us with more questions then answers. For instance this last one, I think a lot of people were expecting/wanting another kick ass video with the second half of the escape shown, and instead we get a "filler" video with Bree talking about what she can't, wont or doesn't know, and tells us a pretty much nothing. At least I know I was.
Anyways that's where I stand. I'm with someone else though, 2 months down the road if we still have more questions then answers, and not a lot of action going on. It's going to be a problem.
