Cross-Promotion or A Clue?

Post by Forgotten Purity »

I mentioned in a different thread the odd coincidence of recent ads that have been appearing after each episode. For the past few, the Revver show "Satacracy" was advertised, a rather chilling show with a narrator who bears a striking vocal resemblance to our friend Oppy.

However, if you didn't believe that, then the ad for this last video is a red flag to pay attention to the ads. I don't see it as coincidence that an ad for Absolut [Vodka] would follow a video revolving around alcoholic problems.

So is this a wicked clue to the reviving plot, or is it just a really good marketing strategy?

It may be as simple as the ads being cued by the language used in the title, description and tags - like google adsense. But then again - I hope there is a greater conspiracy at work. That's what I'm here for ;)

I agree with Luminous, I think it's linked to what is mentioned in the vid. On a lot of websites the ad will be linked to what is talked about in the blog or what have you.

It would be cool if it was a clue though. I remember there being a theory a while back about the Order having a link with Absenthe and what with Daniel's parents being alcoholics there could be a link. But that's just a crazy theory.

I always thought the ads were random....just something revver itself attaches to the link after a video is viewed.

I suspect Luminous and Avalon are correct -- that the ads are not random, but are triggered by language used in connection with the vid. But it would indeed be cool if they were clues.

I'm subscribed to revver and the deal goes like this: When you upload a vid, it is reviewed by a human judge before being posted. This person checks if the vid does not violate any copyrights and reviews the contents of the vid to choose some kind of advertisement to attach to it at the ending. Everytime you click that advertisement, the vid's uploader gets money on a paypal account of their choosing.

Hope that clears things a bit. Also, I urge peeps to click on advertisements for LG15 vids. It's yet another way to support the creators and you don't even have to care for the sites that pop-up. They get paid for clicks, not for time navigating the site advertised. ;)

Wait, so someone actually reviewed the content of a video called "drinking problems" which deals with the demons of alcoholism and thought a good ad to put at the end was one for Vodka!?

WTF.
