seriously. Its like 20 bucks an issue. I'm just like...blahhh. lol.
When I get pissed at him I just tell him how its just written to appeal to men with childlike minds because its all just about super girls with big boobs all going after the main character which is what all guys fantasize about...and i tell him its called spiderman syndrome...how he wants all the girls to like him and fight for him and him to be the best and to still be a teenage boy...
yeah, i get pissed...and mean. =P

Not on the computer! (This was back in HS, so '97? '98? Way before I had a digital camera)....but if I ever scan them, I'll definately post them.Kanazaka wrote:Thanks! And do you have a picture you can post with your "Roxy" hair? I'd like to see it!

Yay! Now I don't feel alone! I actually dyed my hair like Roxy's (white-blonde though, not black) in HS.

My brother gave me a stack of comic books.....I don't know anything about them or if they're worth anything. Mostly Spawn, Punisher, and an autographed Avengers anniversary something or another. I almost threw them out just now but remembered seeing this thread. Anyone read them?

Now that is impressive.Kanazaka wrote:I have copies of the first two issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Not first printings, but still black-and-white and published by Mirage.
I read comics, but not those.Luv2Skydive wrote:My brother gave me a stack of comic books.....I don't know anything about them or if they're worth anything. Just FYI: these days, it's usually not worth buying comics as investments or saving old ones because you think they may be worth something. Buy 'em or keep 'em if you want to read 'em.
That said, your autographed issue may or may not be worth something, depending on how old it is and who it's autographed by. Check The Big Comic Book Database for more info.
BTW, nobackspacebutton is exaggerating just a teeny tiny bit: new comics these days generally cost between $2.95 and $3.50 U.S.

It's about twenty bucks a volume though yes? I only know that when I go to buy them together, the price is usually $10 - 20.
Either way following a comic or two can add up quick.
I usually don't have the money for it after I am finished buying my novels....
I miss having comic book friends whom I could just barrow them from!

So I'm a huge comic book geek (and a girl, which is not as rare as some may think), so this thread makes me happy.
I wasn't ever a big TMNT reader, but my collection is HUGE. Granted, it was a lot bigger, but I lost 12 full size boxes in a house fire. Between my best friend and me, 25 boxes were lost. Bluh.
Mostly, I'm a DC girl. I'm really big into superman (Michael Turner is my favorite artist, and I am Supergirl). I know, it's terrible, but every girl loves a boyscout. I've been favoring Batman more these days anyhow.
As far as Marvel goes, I of course read the Punisher, and I also read X-Factor and Cable / Deadpool. I read like 25 titles, though, so...yeah. I'm a geek.
