[Discussion] Remembering CIW (properly)
I'm catching flack on my yt from somene who supports CIW as a character and they are remembering the story differently than I am and I played the game too.
I figure you guys are the resident experts on all things Cassie so I have a few questions for clarity.
Note: I sound cranky because I am, not with CIW as much as this rabid poster of mine. I like CIW but do not think that Op's canon status makes CIW canon. Nor do I think that the game ended on purpose or that they are taking the worlds longest vacation before thier awesome comeback. We'll see many Cassies again, just not this one. It wrote itself into a corner by banking on the ceremony.
Actually I am a bit cranky with CIW. It could have weasled out of the corner but didn't and it could have ended with Frank dead but it didn't do that either. It missed the clean ending and then just drug out slowly and stopped.
Cassie was, at first, all about saving Bree but as the game progressed her motives became less clear and she seemed only interested in her ghost not dying which seemed wrapped up in the ceremony not happening to Bree.
There was a clear story arc with exorcism and Cassie's fear of her ghost dying in this way (wanted for murder posters and so on)
Frank killed himself, or, Cassie's ghost left his body in such a way as to leave Kaye a widdow and Frank knew that this was coming. (I recall him talking about making it a less painful method)
The end fizzled with Frank dead, a clown painting and all of us waiting around for an avatar that got her shoe stolen.
Anything inacurate? I'm willing to be corrected if I missed or misrecalled anything. ^_^

I think the argument could be made either way about Cassie's motives ...However, I *do* believe that CiW is over, aside from my eventual gamejacktigerlilylynn wrote:(s)he thought Cassie wasn't out to save herself but rather Bree. That Bree's ceremony wasn't about turning out Cassie's ghost and that the game isn't over/didn't end poorly.

Me too. I was in a major retail store the other day, and a girl (probably about 18) came up to me and asked me if I needed any help. I glanced down at her name tag, and it said Cassie. I immeadiately wanted to scream. Instead I asked her if she was watching, and walked away.Danielle wrote:that whole name has been forever altered for me.
I love second life. can't avoid it. I'm an addict, and Cassie's Crew still cow dances every chance we get, of course.
Edit: I hate the smilies.

It was for me, too. But it's been at least a month since I've hid under a table or anything because a server's name was Cassie... *sigh*Danielle wrote:that whole name has been forever altered for me.

Last night I saw a blonde girl getting out of a dark grey, almost black Honda and she had an airbrushed license plate that said "Lucy".
I know it's not Cassie..but still...
