I'm a scientist and I wear jeans, a t-shirt and sandals to work. Scientists haven't worn labcoats since uh... movies.

Of course, as this is fictional, that might be their intent...

but her father being a scientist could have a dramatic impact on her interest in this subject. hence, astronomy, "proving science wrong", and all that good stuff.

Her dad would be wearing a white coat if he works in a lab. However, I doubt he would wear his lab coat outside of the lab, for fear of contamination etc.

I'd say that medical doctors wear labcoats a whole lot more than scientists. This would also be consistent with injections and iron pills (or whatever).

I'll tell you where that lab coat came from - one of the creators dropped out of medical school. You get one at the coat at the white coat ceremony as a sort of initiation right before med. school classes start. During the rotations in the, 3rd and 4th year, many medical students wear them too. I'm willing to bet most of the scientific angle of the story and the whole schpeel [act] of being "into" physics/astronomy etc. (esp. seen on lonelygirl's fake myspace) came from that particular creator. The guy's probably still got a love for the sciences but didn't think becoming a physician/surgeon was for him...
I kind of wonder if the creators fell in love with "Bree" through this whole process more than some of her sheep/fans? For instance, maybe this med. school dropout literally created his fantasy of a "cute" girl with his same interests who through her acting made these interests shine more and in a different light to the general public...
Just a thought.

From looking through the past vblogs there are some tags which don't really fit anything disgussed in the vids...maybe clues? maybe not... heres a few...

Strange tags...

My parents let us go hiking ~ genghiskhan
Swimming!! ~ langosta ...i wikipediad this one...it came up with flora and fauna of Guantánamo Bay,
Bree the cookie monster ~ ocelot ..which i found to be a wild cat like animal
Poor pluto ~ cephalopod ..
Should I or shouldn't i ~ sable ..a small furry animal but i also found its fur is used for high quality art brushes..
I'm going to the party ~campylobacter . infection in humans is the most common cause of gastro

i thought maybe the hiking and swimming ones might lead to clues of where they were :?: :?:
