Fookin' right there ain't no mafia. Who said there was? When I find out...silvermoon wrote:I live in Joisey, too. Second of all, "The Sopranos" is highly degrading to those of Italian-American extraction.
Third of all, the "Bada Bing" is actually a place called "Satin Dolls" and is NOT a topless bar. It is a bikini go-go bar. It is illegal in the state of NJ to have a topless bar that serves alcohol, and Satin Dolls sells alcohol. The "Bada Bing" is pure fabrication because they show topless dancers in an alcohol-serving establishment.
youse may want to think twice about comparing anything to the "sopranos"

Bree= Timmy. Always into some fine mess, often involving his parents.
Daniel = Wanda. The level headed one who always has to save the day.
Jonas = Cosmo. Cute, but goofy, doesn't contribute much.
The Order = Vicky. Ultimate badness.

I am from Jersey as well. Unless you're covering up for your shady relatives, you must be pretty naive to think there is no mafia or organized crime in Jersey. True, it's not exactly how they portray it on the Sopranos, but....JerseyJohnny wrote:First of all, there is no such thing as a "mafia" or "organized criminals" in New Jersey. There are at least four families operating out of NJ:
1.NJ Faction of the Genovese Family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genovese_crime_family
2.NJ faction of the Lucchese Family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucchese_Family
3.NJ faction of the Philadephia Family(Whatever it's left of it) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_crime_family
4.Actual Jersey Family Named Decavalcante
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_DeCava ... ime_Family
Anyway, I'm not a big mob expert, but I happen to know this stuff because a lot of my family members are cops in Jersey.
Also, I think the correlations between LG15 and the Sopranos are pretty weak. Amusing, though. The Sopranos is my favorite show of all time.
I'm half Italian and my grandparents are from Italy. I don't find the show offensive, but they probably would

Johnny was just kidding around about the mafia thing (hence the Mafia-like accent...). If you are reading something from Johnny, best to check the reality at the door and just have a good laugh.surrealisticpill wrote:I am from Jersey as well.
