They don't give you this information off hand because they want to keep you guessing and intrigued. There is nothing better then a good cliffhanger..

I'm kinda subscribing to the theory that her religion is one of several umbrella'd by the Illuminati. This is thanks to some of the *excellent* research dug up by trainer101.
