Interesting- the more I look at the symbol the more I notice how it's NOT like an infinity sign. It's not exactly level, is it? the smaller (?) circle seems to be lower than the slightly larger one. Also, the outer lines don't exactly connect- even if you take into account that it's really round. It's almost like a caligraphied "S" with everything touching.
But it is most definately an "8" lying on its side...googled, you'll find information like this:

A fallen or lying down 8 is used to represent infinity in mathematics. This interpretation of 8 may be related to the representation of the caduceus (where two snakes form several figure eights) as stability or balance of opposing forces.

In algebraic geometry, the word lemniscate refers to any of several figure-eight or ∞ shaped curves, of which the best known is the Lemniscate of Bernoulli. It is also sometimes used to refer to the ∞ symbol used in mathematics as a symbol for infinity.

also something very important:
The infinity sign was devised in 1655 by mathemetician John Wallis, and named lemniscus (latin, ribbon) by mathemetician Bernoulli about forty years later.

The lemniscate is patterned after the device known as a mobius (named after a nineteenth century mathemetician Mobius) strip. A mobius strip is a strip of paper which is twisted and attached at the ends, forming an 'endless' two dimensional surface.

The religious aspect of the infinity symbol predates its mathematical origins. Similar symbols have been found in Tibetan rock carvings; and the ouroboros, or infinitysnake, is often depicted in this shape. In the tarot, it represents the balance of forces and is often associated with the magician card.

Another great website on this symbol:

The symbol of an "eight on its side" is sometimes known as the lemniscate and is a glyph for infinity. The English mathematician John Wallis (1616-1703) introduced the symbol to represent mathematical infinity in his Arithmetica Infinitorum of 1655. The term lemniscate refers to the shape itself, and the Swiss mathematician Jacob Bernoulli (1654-1705) first called the shape a lemniscus (Latin for ribbon) in an article in Acta Eruditorum in 1694.

In spiritual terms, the lemniscate represents eternity, the numinous and the higher spiritual powers. The Magus, the first card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot, is often depicted with the lemniscate above his head or incorporated into a wide-brimmed hat, signifying the divine forces he is attempting to control.

The use of a figure eight to represent infinity is an interesting choice, as eight is linked to pre-creational infinity through the Ogdoad and to the cyclical sense of infinity through the eight pagan festivals of the year and the octagram.

Seems a bit pretentious for a group to have their logo/symbol be an infinity sign to me... maybe pretentious isn't hte right word. It seems as if they are a bit cocky.

It's possible that the order owns the warehouses... but what would they be shipping?

Maybe they are shipping supplies...either books (instructional material), new identity information, pills or medicine (like what Bree's dad was giving her), or maybe it was the box that the cameras came in before they put them out? =P

It is a little cocky though to use the infinity symbol...it is as if they are saying that they will always be around and that litterly: there will be no end.

anngry wrote:i dont know if anyone mentioned this, i just watched the vid on the way to bed, but when i saw the symbol on the box i immediately thought it was a weird way of writing OP with just one line (i forget the term for that, goodness im tired).

it might not be because the P wouldnt be very pronounced but it just stood out to me.

goodnight!
The P could just be a stylized P and wrapped around the O

thanks, i just assumed it might. since i've slept, i see the infinity theory has gotten much scrutiny. i'm not sure how far it can be taken until we get some more plot development.

i completely agree, i dont think its an infinity sign either. first off, they are usually symmetrical. secondly, they are made by making one continuous motion and meeting itself back where it started. this is not the case with this symbol at all. seriously i do not think this is an infinity symbol.

The way it is on the box is that it is laying down..and the fact one side is bigger than the other...I think it fits perfectly. I'm just not sure how an infinity sign would fit into the storyline.

I'm guessing Daniel meant they "have nothing" on the thing they want the most...information on Bree's location?
Question: Who would you rather cuddle with...Daniel or P. Monkey?

Maybe he's nervous about all the footage they must have of him in his underwear, singing "And I Will Always Love You" from The Bodyguard in front of the mirror while using his hairbrush as a microphone.

What would be really funny now is for OpAphid to release a Benny Hill style video montage of Daniel in his room--you know, all sped up with "Yakkity Sax" as background music!

With people following him around the room, the line getting longer?
Or is that somebody else.
