Re: PM button
Thanks for this suggestion. Not yanking your chain -- I really am glad you posted this. I need to consider this option more often.tech4u2hire wrote:IMO (like ya care but I'll put it out there anyways) I think that alot of the flaming on these forums comes form people posting when they should PM. I will tell you this much if you PM me with a negative comment I am way more likely to take it to heart....especially if its a personal matter. I mean which would you repect more......a post in the forum sayin STFU or a PM saying "you know I really did not appreciate what you said about xxx yyy and especially zzzzz, thats what I think and thats how it made me feel" if I get a PM like that odds are I will go edit the post. However throwing pebbles on the board does abslutely nothing for me. I guess its just easier for some people to throw things out there than to address there issues with you. Then again people like to inflame sometimes.

If someone is being an ass in public..or flames me in public, I'm keepin' that sh*t public. Sorry, but it's true. I use PMs for mods and for friends not for enemies really. Besides, the few instances where "enemies" have PMed me, their behavior and style of "flaming" varies so much from the public forum (that is to say it is much nastier and makes them look downright ignant), that I kinda want to post it in public just to illustrate what a total douche the "enemy" is.
Me and my key...same as it ever was.

Just to chime in on Tannhaus, I wasn't posting much in the forums at that time, but after watching the video of his where he was saying how terribly he was treated in the LG15 forums, I browsed through to see what he was talking about and I have to agree that Tannhaus was the one who was being unreasonable, he didn't want to debate or discuss, he wanted to impose his views.JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:Is she talking about that Tannhaus guy? I fought with him like crazy. He was so goddamn annoying. I don't respect annoying people. Call me a cat all you wish.
He had one objective in mind, it wasn't to inform people on Thelema, it was to stop lonelygirl15 from making any reference to Thelema, and he apparently succeeded.

Please don't post about other users... Tannhaus is still posting, and we're happy to have him doing so! He provides an interesting perspective on religion!
I have to say, many of us (myself included) are guilty of pushing people's buttons, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I guess that's natural on message boards. Overall though, I think we have a great group of people who work together and talk together in a really productive, fun way. That's why I enjoy this place so much and what makes it so different from pretty much any other message board I've used!
