Gemma's first video

Post by Paul Monkuppet »

I was going back and watching some older videos and I came across Gemma's first video "It's not your decision". And with the resent reveal of her in the states and with Lucy I played close attention to the video.

Now the name alone is suspect, and although she talks about a boy named Sam and at the end says its Brees decision, I still think she’s not on the level at all. The way she talks about the order is so matter of factly and some of the things she says just lead me to believe that she was in with the order all along. She was never in London.

From this video I think she was never forced by the order to do anything. She’s been working for them all along.

Just for the record, Gemma's first video was "Nut kills man" not "It's not your decision".
Ah forget it...

ok, to play devil's advocate: at 1st it does seem odd that gemma would lie about being in london if she wasn't tied up with the order from the beginning, but what if she was trying to hide her actual location from the order? but then, the order found her anyway (because they are EVERYWHERE) and then co-erced her to keep posting videos and still claim to be in London.

if gemma was in with the order from the beginning, she should have just said that the ceremony was really cool, no big deal, just that daniel was being nosey and disrespectful of the religion. why start mentioning families disappearing if she was on the order's side?

About that video though... I keep coming back to how Gemma called that video, "it's not your decision"... and Jonas called his, "your decision."

Gemma = not your decision = not HER decision = she's being forced?

Jonas = your decision = HIS decision = he and Daniel and Bree are standing up?

Just a thought.

I agree. I noticed the parallels between titles too.

Well one of the central themes of this series is "Do what thou wilt". (How Bree's parents met, Bree disobeying her parents to do what she wants, Aleister Crowley, etc.) It seems like individual freedom is still seen as a positive force despite its tie-in with Bree's and Bree's parents' religious beliefs.

I think, on the thematic level, the Order despite obstensibly spouting those beliefs, has become corrupted and is obsessed with severely controlling individual freedom.

great observation, though I thought of the complete opposite, as in
Gemma = not your decision = Gemme is on the side that
forcing Bree,
Jonas = your decision = fighting for Bree's freedom and safety

Or, as people have theorized elsewhere, she might have been originally on B&D's side, but been forced to cooperate after the watchers found her.

Although admittedly Tachyon's latest vid seems to make that scenario less likely. It sure sounds like Gemma's cooperating voluntarily.

Yeah, I guess the watchers may have got to her - one minute she was being watched and was scared to death, the next minute she totally discounted that - perhaps the order has explained something to Gemma to change her mind.... maybe she was lied to, maybe she's learned the awful truth about Bree....whatever that might be.
