Thanks, deagol. I had seen a quote from the IRC chat, but not the post from Jeromy. Guess I should have done a little bit more research on pigeons.
I just got excited at the thought of some kind of lead. It sounded good in my head, at least... I guess I'm just getting desperate. What are we ...

You do have a point. It is still possible that it is a homing pigeon. At the very least it seems to be a tame pigeon. The thing about it being a homing pigeon that was bugging me was that it didn't try to fly home. If it didn't have a homing instinct, it would be more likely to stay around. On the ...

The Pigeon Problem
Okay, I had to do a lot of driving today, and as I was driving along the interstate I pondered the puzzle of the pigeons. (Ooh, alliteration!) It just didn't seem to make sense how a homing pigeon would just hang around on Maddy's doorstep. A homing pigeon should fly home when it was released, and ...

In the interests of actually saying something constructive, I did have one idea on the subject of Doctor Seuss. Considering the unusual use of pigeons, I looked for any connections between pigeons and Dr. Seuss. Some of the connections I found don't appear to have any meaning, like a quote from the ...

The only reason the Wiggins in Sherlock Holmes would seem to be significant is that he would provide a connection with the next part of the clue. The "Wiggins Quote c.1860" part doesn't seem to be directly connected to Sherlock Holmes because the character wasn't around in 1860 and has no memorable ...

Okay, so I've been pondering another possibility for the "Empty House?!" part of the message. One of the first things that comes up in Google when searching for "empty house" is "The Adventure of the Empty House" by Arthur Conan Doyle. Circumstances and the punctuation are making me wonder if it is ...

Wiggins quote
Hi, I've been lurking for a while now. I haven't actually had anything useful to say before this (and it seems a bit late to be getting involved now ) but I was bored and the loose ends here were bugging me.
Perhaps the quote is about Wiggins? I did find one quote about Blind Tom by following a ...
